Back at the apartment they girls quickly unpack the groceries and then all four of them sit down on June's couch with a bottle of wine.
"Spit out, July. Now, now, now!" April practically jumps up and down on the couch.
"Well, June knows it. I couldn't keep the secret anymore. But Ben and I have started dating."
"I'm guessing Ben is the hot guy from the grocery store?" May says with a big smile. July nods and take a big sip of wine. The happiness is glowing from her face."We're so happy for you. Finally. You've been talking about and drooling over that guy for months. I had actually decided to go give him your number. Now I don't have to." April's smile is so bright it looks like she's trying to outshine the sun.
"So two down, oh I mean, three down, one to go." May adds with a smile.
"Who's number three? Who forgot to tell me something?" July askes confused.
"Seriously? I'm counting Seth and April too." May laughs.
"Of course!" July rolls her eyes for not getting the answer right away.
"Yeah okay, you might as well." April sighs and blushes a little. "We have actually decided that we should go on a real date soon."'
The girls spend another hour talking about dates, guys, clothes, hair and makeup and then it's time for June to make her infamous chili casserole.
While June cooks the guys arrive and all of June's friends decides to play Truth or Dare. June is almost breaking down in tears because she's laughing so much over the stupid things, they decide for each other every time someone chooses Dare.
"Okay, okay guys. Now you can't ask my neighbors for any more stuff. I really want them to still like me after you guys leave." June says after 20 minutes of playing. July just got back with some eggs and a plant.
"And also what's the plant for?" June adds confused.
"I just wanted to see if she could get something a bit more unusual. I didn't think I could ask her to go borrow a vibrator." Brian winks at June and all of them laugh very loud.
"You guys are so crazy. But I still love you." June smiles softly and goes back to the kitchen.
Not too long after that the food is done, and June is just finishing the table when there's a knock on the door. She looks up in surprise and with a frown she opens the door. It's a courier with flowers.
"It's from Matt." She says when she turns back towards her friends.
"And of course it's lilies. Your favorite flowers." Brian chirps and almost jumps up and down with glee. "That man knows just about everything about you, babe."
"True." June mutters and places the flowers in a vase. "Food is ready, guys. Let's eat."
The few days June has left with her friends passes by in a blur and she's sad to say goodbye to all of them.
"Don't be strangers, girl." She almost sobs when they are packing the last of their belongings. She's already said her goodbyes to the guys earlier when they left after they all had brunch.
"It was so fun to be a tourist in your city, sweetheart." July says and hugs June tight. "I'll be back soon."
"Of course you will, babe. Your soon-to-be boyfriend lives here." April laughs heartily.
"I hope you fall so hard for him that you move here." June says with hope shining bright in her eyes.
"Don't get too much ahead of yourself babe, but you never know." July winks at June. "Thank you for letting us crash and thank you for a great vacation. It was the best vacation EVER. Please stay this happy, babe." July says and hug June. May and April join the hug immediately.
"You guys are the best." June says with a tear rolling down her chin.
"We really have to go now guys." May says reluctant and frees herself from the group hug to pick up her handbag from the floor.
2 minutes later the girls are gone, and June's apartment feels way too quiet. She takes a tour of the apartment and notices all the little signs that are left from the girl's visits. There are more glasses in the dishwasher, the blankets on the couch are crumpled and there are mattresses on the bedroom floor.
She starts the dishwasher and then packs the mattresses away and fixes the couch. It's only 1 o'clock in the afternoon so it's way too early to prepare dinner. She decides to take a walk and call Matt to see what he's up to.
It's been a week since June left San Francisco and today is the day of Matt's arrival. June's starting to get nervous. She has barely spoken to him over the past three days. Of course he's been busy but she's so full of dread that it makes her stomach hurt a bit. She keeps reassuring herself that it has nothing to do with her and everything to do with him being busy figuring everything out. Although she has no idea what this everything entails.
She sits at her counter with a cup of coffee and tries to calm her nerves. "It's just Matt and it's only been a few days we haven't spoken. Everything will be just like before." She thinks out loud.
Then there's a knock on her door and she almost spills her coffee in surprise. She opens the door and a huge wave of relief washes over her when she sees Matt leaning against the door frame with the biggest smile playing on his lips.
She throws herself into his arms and their lips crash immediately in a deep, passionate kiss. "I missed you." He pants against her lips when they come up for air.
"Missed you more." She pants back before he pushes her into her apartment and closes the door behind them.
"That's not possible, baby." He says with humor clear in his voice.
"It it." She kisses him to prevent him from answering and slips out of her dress. It falls to the floor and pools around her feet. She steps out of the dress while pushing Matt towards the bedroom without ever breaking the kiss.
He sits on the bed and she straddles him, pressing herself flush against him. They both moan. She breaks the kiss and says "I need you right now, Matt."
"You have me." He laughs and winks at her but before she can say or do anything else he undresses himself and within seconds he's buried deep inside her, chasing the pleasure that warms him to his core and only she can give him.
It doesn't take them long to reach climax. "I missed doing this. More than I thought." She pants and puts her head on his chest.
"So did I, baby. So did I." He murmurs and nuzzles her hair.
"Mmh, that's nice. Please don't stop." She says sleepily.
He laughs and places a kiss on the top of her head. "We have much to talk about but for now we should take a nap babe."
She makes a noise of agreement and shortly after they are both sleeping peacefully.
