Chapter 22

Three months later:

Matt and June have officially dated for three months now and things are going very well between them. After the photo of the two of them leaving the movies got out, things went crazy for a few days but then things went mostly back to normal. June gets a lot more private messages on her social medias but most of them are nice. She has had some trouble navigating all the attention but Matt has helped her a lot and so has his Social Media advisor which June thought was a weird kind of employee to have, until she realized how much easier he makes Matt's life.

Now Matt is almost done shooting his movie in Phoenix and he's invited June out for a fancy dinner this evening.

"So there's actually this thing I've been dying to ask you, babe." Matt says and swallows nervously when they get to their table at the restaurant.

"What is it?" June asks and looks worriedly at him when she sits down on the chair across from him.

"It's something good. I hope." He sends her a reassuring smile that he returns. "Okay. Shoot then."

"Do you.." He pauses midsentence and feel a very unmanly blush creep up along his neck.

"Come on Matt, it's just me. No need to be nervous." June sends him a genuine smile and his nerves dissolves immediately and he blurts "Do you want to go on a vacation with me?"

She lights up in a big, bright smile and nods enthusiastically. "Of course I wanna go on a vacation with you, babe. I would love to! Where are we going and how come it made my amazing man embarrassed to ask me that?"

After the nice dinner and a long discussion of vacation places, Matt and June decide to go straight to bed but those plans are interrupted when June's phone rings.

"Pick up, pick up, pick up." July's voice booms.

Matt laughs heartily. "Well, with that ringtone I have a feeling it's July who's calling. You better pick it up."

June sighs and picks up. "Great news babe." July squeals as soon as June's greeted her.

Before June can say anything, July adds "I'm moving to Phoenix! I just got a new job there. I can't wait!"

"Congratulations sweety. That's amazing! But I have to admit, I'm a little confused. Didn't you get a new job like three months ago?"

"Yeah and now I got another one so I can be closer to you." June almost yell with happiness.
"And Ben." June says and laughs heartily. "That's wonderful, babe. I love it. I love you and I'm so proud. It's gonna be so amazing to be able to see each other much more often."

"I can't wait!" July squeals. "I start in a month so I'm gonna have to find an apartment before then."

"If you don't find one before you start working, then you can come live with me babe." June suggests.

"As if you and Matt want another person to live with you." July laughs loudly.

June sighs. "He's done filming for now so he's leaving soon. But we have decided to go on a vacation together. He asked me earlier today. It was really sweet. I'll tell you all about it when we see each other again."

"The vacation sounds wonderful babe. You deserve a break with your man. But I'll leave you two to it. Talk to you later babe." July says before hanging up.

June turns to Matt with a big smile on her face. "July's moving here. She got a job here that starts in a month."

"How wonderful, baby. Then you won't be too lonely without me." He kisses her softly.

"No but I'll still miss you plenty. Now let's talk about our vacation." She smiles sweetly.
"How about we don't talk right now but later?" He says suggestively and she kisses him greedily in agreement and they quickly undress each other on their way to the bedroom.

Later that night they lie in bed and talk about all the places they dream of visiting. It turns out they have a lot of places in common.

"Oh, I totally forgot to tell you." June says when they are talking about Paris. "My parents are finally coming home so you can finally meet them officially." Matt has spoken to June's parents many times on video chat but he's never met them.
"Really? I was beginning to think they would just travel the world for the rest of their lives." He laughs. "I can't wait babe. I really like them."

"And they really like you. And I was actually also starting to believe they would travel like forever. They come home in 3 days."

"Good thing I don't leave before then." He laughs.

"7 days only." She sticks her lower lips out in a pout and he kisses her softly while laughing.

"You're cute baby."

"And you're hot." She winks at him and they both laugh happily.

Three days later it's finally time for Matt to meet June's parents.

"What should I bring to two people who've visit 17 countries in half a year?" Matt wonders out loud and June shakes her head "I have no idea babe. I hate it every time I have to get them presents. They have everything they need which is me and each other. And a house full of books."
Matt laughs loudly. "I'll just put bow on you then and give them a visit from you."
June laughs so much she gets stomach cramps. "Don't be so funny, babe. But they love wine. Almost all kinds of it actually as long as it's white wine."

"I know what to bring now." He smiles brightly. "I'll be right back, babe. I'll just have to go buy the perfect present."

"Hurry up though. We leave in an hour." She scolds him playfully.

"I'm not the one doing my hair and makeup." He teases. "I'm all ready to go as soon as I've picked up the wine."

"See you soon." She laughs.

"Oh my god, no Matt. You cannot bring them a wine that costs 500 dollars!" June looks horrified at the bottle of wine, Matt brings back from the store.

"I can and I will." He laughs.

"Oh my god." She shrieks. "They are gonna love you more than they love me. This is their freaking favorite wine that they drink only on their wedding day."

"I know babe. Your mum told me as much. That's why it's the perfect gift. And of course they won't love me more than they love you. Don't be stupid." He laughs and kisses her softly.
