Ch1. Gems

Another day in Beach City. Nothing really big has happened in a while.

The day started smoothly like always. 7 am.
Surprisingly, Y/n woke up and decided to go for a walk.

Leaving a note on the fridge for her cousins to see it later.

"Hm..looks like Sadie is opening the Big Donut..like usual" y/n said with a sigh.

As Y/n went to sit down on the boardwalk she stopped a familiar boy run up to the donut shop.

-y/n POV-
"Steven..hm I'm not surprised he is there again.." I sighed looking at the boy enter the shop.

'Will there be a day I'll get a chance to talk to him?' I thought looking at my right palm where my gem is.

A small rose quartz. Or I believe it is. That is what my mother told me when I last saw her.

"Um hello!" I jumped by hearing a voice behind me.

'Did I make a wish or something? Maybe it's someone else..it can't be him-'

"I don't think I've seen you before" I turned around and looked up at the the gem/human boy.

I quickly pulled my sleeve to hide my hand.

"Oh um. That's why I just stay in my house most of the time..or either just come at late at night or early in the morning..heh" I said nervously.

'Pull yourself together Y/n!'

"Well~ I'm Steven!" He claimed putting his hand out. I smiled at him and returned the gesture but with my sleeve pulled over my hand.

"I'm Y/n. It's nice to meet you Steven" I said happily. 'He isn't so bad'

"Hey! I got two donuts for me. How about you take one? Here! I hope it's okay this one" he said digging into the bag and handing me one.

I took it "thank you. It's fine" I answered.

He sat next to me and we began to chat for a bit.

A few laughs came out here and there.

As we talked he invited me to his house since we wanted to show me a game he had.

I was hesitant when he asked me. But I accepted.

We walked up to his beach house, entering I saw a two gems in the kitchen.

"Hey Pearl! Hey Amethyst!" Steven shouted and waved.

"Hello Steven. Oh! It seems you brought a friend." Pearl said looking at me.

"Yeah! Y/n this is Pearl and Amethyst. I'm sure you've heard about them. Guys this is Y/n! I met her a while go on the boardwalk!" Steven explained.

I waved at them.

"What's up Y/n! Nice to meet you!" Amethyst said walking up to me putting her arm around my neck from behind.

"Nice to meet you too" I said with a nervous laugh.

'Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap. I don't know why I'm so nervous! They are just normal people but won't powers! Calm down Y/n! You are lucky Steven noticed you!'

"Anyways! Come Y/n! Up here is my room and this is the game I was talking about!" He said leading me up some stairs to his so-called room.

We sat down and he placed the game into the TV and we began to play.

Eventually Amethyst joined and we played for hours.

The sound of my phone made us stop.

2:30 pm Read my phone. I saw my cousin called me a few times.

"Oh shoot. One second Steven I'm just going to call someone real quick." I told him and he nodded.

I went outside and dialed my cousin's number.

"Y/n! Where the heck are you?! It's been hours! Are you kidnapped? Did you runaway? You can tell me! I won't tell-"

"Woah! Relax! I'm fine! I didn't runaway. Or get kidnapped. I'm at Steven's place. We started playing video games and I didn't realize how long we were-"

"Steven Universe? The half gem kid? The one you've always wanted to-"

"Yes,yes him. Now that I've told you where I am. I have to go. So..bye" I hanged up and went back inside.

I saw Steven in the kitchen making something and Amethyst on the couch upside down.

"I'm making sandwiches for us. Would you like one?" Steven asked.

"Sure!" I responded and went to sit at the counter.

I can't believe I finally spoke too Steven Universe. The kid who I've been wanting to talk to.

I wonder how I'll tell him about...my gem.

I can't yet. Just have to keep it a secret.

But it will have to be soon..
