Chapter 14: Protect

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

"How is rank 2 good enough for you?!" She yelled

"I worked my ass out for you to study harder and all you're saying is Rank 2 is fine?!"

I clenched my fist as I turned to her.

"I'm sorry" I looked down.

She yelled and yelled but all I could hear right now was muffled noises, I was so used to hearing this. I did anything so that she would look at me and say how proud she was but everytime all she would say is do more!

Everything wasn't enough so I had to do everything even if it meant not to go out and play with my friends or even eat some candies and ice creams, live a normal life like kids do.

Ever since I was a kid I was locked up in my room with books.

It was like a fairytale, where the princess is locked up inside a tower and all she ever do is read books but she is forbidden to go outside the tower.

So all she could do is listen to her mother because

"I only know what's best for you because I'm your mother"

But the princess was lucky enough because she had a prince charming who saved her from that lonely tower.

While I'm still locked inside my own tower.

"Her last project is what dragged her down"

"What kind of project is it?"

"It was by pair"

"Who was your partner?"

I bit my lip as I trembled

"I did it alone! I didn't have any partner!" I lied

"Tell me?" She was dead serious as she looked at me straight in the eyes

I don't want Shinichiro-kun to be involved.

"It's the t—"

"It was me" I froze in my place as I heard Shinichiro-kun's voice behind me.

I looked behind me and saw him smiled at me

"It's okay (Y/n)-chan" he smiled as he pats my head.

I trembled as I stare at him facing my Mom

"I was her partner Maam" Shinichiro-kun you don't know my Mom so please don't!

"Are you? How dare you drag my daughter down?!" My mom yells

"I apologize"

"Apologize? An Apology can't make my daughter rank up can it?!" Shinichiro-kun just stood silently

"You should be ashamed! Stay away from my daughter!" She yells

"Mom!—" I was about to butt in when Shinichiro-kun blocked me with his arm.

"I'll stay away from her in one condition" I turned to him as he looked at Mom

"What is it?" She sneered

"Please Don't hurt her then I'll stay away from her"

"Shinichiro-kun—" Mom bursted put laughing as she stares at Shinichiro-kun

"And who are you to tell me what to do?"

"Then I'm not staying away from her" He says

"Are you serious?" She asked but Shinichiro-kun was dead serious

Mom was enraged so she walked out stomping away

When school was over I went home, and when I entered the house someone pulled a handful of my hair as they threw me away.

I rolled on the floor as I coughed

"(Y/n)-chan!" Tina worriedly called.

"Tina stay out of the way!" Mom says as she pulled a belt.

"You'll be locked in your room to study and study got that!" She says as she slams the belt on my legs, I yell because of the pain on my legs.

"Madam! Please!" She shielded me as she took the hit,

"Tina get out of there!" Mom yells

"No! I am not!" Tina yells

"I see you're protecting her" Mom clicked her tongue

"(Y/n) tonight you're going to study no rest! And stay away from that boy Sheesh you're giving me headaches" She said as Tina helped me up.

When I went inside my room Tina immediately treated my bruises.

"Tina you got hit on the back too we should check it" I said then Tina just smiled

"It didn't hurt your bruises are the ones need to be treated"

"Look at this! It's going to make your legs ugly so let's treat this"

"Tina" I sobbed my tears uncontrollably streaming down my face.

"I'm sorry! I'm such a failure!"

"No! Listen to me!" She cups my face as I sobbed

"Everyone fails and that's normal, failing is what makes us human. But it doesn't mean that we're gonna fail forever, you can't be successful without failure, so failure is our stepping stone to success"

"Understand?" I nodded then Mom barged inside

"Bring all her books in study without rest! And Tina we have something to talk about" She says as Tina went out.

When she slammed the door close the books were in front of me and I could hear that she locked my door.

Shinichiro's P.O.V

I sat down as I tapped my fingers on my desk. I wonder if she's okay.

I saw her figure going inside but it looked like she haven't slept and I noticed a bruise on her legs.

"(Y/n)-chan" I called but she didn't answer

She just sat down as she grabbed her notebook reading her notes.

I don't want to distract her so I'll just sit silently I guess.

It was because of me she was scolded by her Mom and was punished.

When school was over I packed my things as I grabbed my bag I was about to leave when

"Shinichiro-kun" I turned to see (B/f/n)

"What is it?"

"Can we talk?"

We went on the park as I sat down.

"What do you want to talk about?" I asked

"It's about (Y/n)-chan"

"We met when we were still on the elementary, she was a studious girl she wouldn't take her eyes off her book"

"I tried to get close to her until we became real close until she told me everything"

"I thought they were a perfect family her Mom as a famous actress and her father as the Mayor"

"But then that day she told me"
