You stand outside the doors with Minho and Ben, both of them skeptical of you.
"So...you're not running with us, you're trying to see if you can get a bug?"
"Yep!" You grin at them, popping the p.
"You're so full of Hope, it's gonna crush you, ya know." Ben scolds.
"I'm not full of hope." You reply, shaking your head. "I have a feeling it may not work, but that's because I have to believe it won't."
They both exchange confused looks, then back at you. "Then why the hell are you doing this, Shank?"
"Because if it does work, at least we know that it's legit. I have to believe it won't work. But think about it if it will."
You're starting to get scared of Hope. Because you're lying to them. You do hope this works. But you're ready to be disappointed.
And it hurts.
Because you just want to help your friends out.
"Whatever you say, just don't go in there for too long, okay?" Minho pleads you. "We can't look back or keep an eye on you while you're in there. We have our own job to do."
It's been a few days since the battle with Gally, one and a half weeks closer till you get your new Greenie.
The Maze doors begin to rumble and your heads shoot up, looking at the large doors that tower over you, making you appear small.
