You. Newt. And Greenie sit in silence against a log. For once, you're turned away from the fire. Eating dinner in utter silence. The bonfire that's lit up, with people dancing around it. Their laughs and their chatter faint in the background.
Newt had forced Greenie to apologize to you, after you spent a few hours with Gally while the sun was setting.
Now you're eating dinner made by the one and only Frypan. Newt in between the pair of you as you all sit on the grass against the log, munching quietly. Trying to enjoy it despite the bitter taste with the lack of seasoning or salt.
It's an awkward silence. But you're zoning out and your body is automated to feed you, while you think about tomorrow. You don't really have a whole lot else to do now the Greenie is here and you won't be in the Glade.
And you want to figure out ways to proceed with the Griever plan. That there must be a key component or something.
But it'd be impossible. You can't put a trap nor a cage. It'd simply slice free. Even trapping it would be a hell of a mission as it doesn't come out in daylight. Or...you hadn't seen it come out in daylight. So how the hell do you do it?
Maybe Gally's right, maybe you should forget it.
"Hell of a first day, Greenie." Newt thankfully, finally breaks the awkward silence. He looks over to Greenie who simply nods, swallowing his food and staring at the wall with beady eyes.
Newt lifts up the jar of Gally's recipe, putting it in Greenie's lap. Greenie lowers his head down alarmed, only to see it's simply just a jar and feeling kind of stupid for it.
"Put some hair on your chest." Newt suggests to him.
Greenie, picks it up and peers at it observantly, narrowing his eyes at the glass to look at the liquid contained within.
...
Is he copying you, or is this just what normal people do? Observe the unknown?
