The fourth day of Greenie's arrival. It's his fourth day here. As you're not a Runner today, this'll be the last day you need to help him in the Gardens. Tomorrow, you'll be running with Minho.
This morning, Thomas had woken up before you and Gally and had bragged onto Newt about all the ways they could escape. Which Newt had gotten a little bit bothered by it, by the sounds of it. Considering he told you.
So, it's probably a good thing you're helping these two out so he doesn't go asking one million more questions.
You look over across the Glade at Gally. He stops building, as if he knows you're staring. And you see his head turn. Your heart flutters and you bite back a smile, going back to help Newt. He must've known.
Sixth scent or something.
Dumb Shank is probably smirking his ass off as we speak.
"How familiar are you with the forest, Tommy?" Newt asks curiously, leaning on the tree. Thomas looks up from raking the fallen leaves of the trees, right over to Newt unsure. "Not well..."
"Great." Newt lifts up a brown basket and he chucks it across the garden past you, to Thomas. Thomas' reaction time is swift, dropping the rake onto the ground which rattles with a thud. His hands snapping against the basket.
"Y/n can show you this part of the forest." Newt chuckles, his arm pointed out to the woods that are past the gardens. "She'll show you where the fertilizer."
You've never had to once fetch fertilizer so you don't even know.
"You expect me to know?"
"Don't scare him." Newt snickers. "You know where."
Newt.
