This chapter is more Jaime. But please rest assured that I will be bringing Gendry back in for the rest of it. Please enjoy

"Ser Jaime! You.........you scared me." (Y/n) said, placing her hand over her heart. Gulping at the large lump that suddenly seemed to have formed in the throat. In truth, she knew that the Kingsguard hadn't shocked her. That her heart was pounding because of her run through the streets of Kings Landing. Because of the thrill of sneaking back into the well-guarded Keep, without any of her father's bannermen noticing her. But mostly, it was because of the encounter with the handsome Gendry. Yet now it was also beating because of the Lannister. The golden lion seeming to be slowly moving closer to her, with every passing second.

There had always been something about the Kingsguard that had attracted her. It was obvious to anyone that ever lay eyes on Jaime Lannister, that he had to be one of the most beautiful men in whole of the Seven Kingdoms. Yet it wasn't just his smile, or those seductive green eyes that caught her attention. It was more that she had seen what he was like when he was away from the queen. She had seen how he was with Tyrion. And that was what made her like him. The part of the Kingslayer, that very few were privileged to see.

"And where have you been, may I ask?" Jaime enquired, as he stood right in front of her. (Y/n) sure that if he moved any closer, his chest would be pressed right up against her.

"I.........I just went for a walk. I needed some fresh air. I.............."

"It's a little late at night for a lady to walking the streets of the capital, don't you think?" Jaime interrupted. The Kingsguard reaching up and pushing a few stray strands of her dark hair away from her face.

"I think that you will find, Ser Jaime, that, as the queen so eloquently reminds the whole of the Red Keep whenever my name is mentioned, I am no lady. I am just a bastard with a noble name. Now, if you will excuse me." (Y/n) replied. Curtsying slightly, before making to push past the Kingsguard. The young doe finding her arm caught in Jaime's grasp.

"There is no need to speak to me so harshly, (Y/n). I am not my sister. You are every inch a lady in my eyes. Every inch a Baratheon. A prize for any man that can see you. And as such, it is only right that you should be protected. Be cared for. I know that you weren't just out for a walk, (Y/n). I know what you really do, where you really go when you escape the confines of this Keep. I don't have to be my brother, or have Varys spies, to know that you go and speak with the smallfolk. That you give them your ear, so that you can convey their concerns to the king. To my father..........."

"Please Jaime, don't tell my father." (Y/n) begged, as she turned to look at the lion.

"What I do is important. But my father will stop me if her finds out that I leave the Keep. He will double the guards on patrol. Have me watched at every moment. Please Jaime. Please." (Y/n) continued, as she took the handsome blonde's hands in hers. Pleading in her eyes, as she hoped that the royal guard would take pity on her.

Jaime could feel his heart beat at a pace as the doe looked up at him. What he wouldn't do to be able to take her now. To tear off the breeches that she was wearing. To have her wrap her legs around his waist, as he pushed her up against the wall behind her. To feel the thrill of being the first to know the body of the exquisite doe. He had thought about it on many a night. Thought about having her in his bed. In his arms. The sound of her moans filling the air, as she writhed underneath him. Yet now was not the time. He would wait until their wedding night. He would wait until she was truly his, before he claimed what he wanted.

Jaime couldn't believe that his sister had so readily agreed to his plan for him to ask for (Y/n)'s hand. But he had been delighted that she had. As much as he loved Cersei. As much as he had taken the Kingsguard oath so that he could remain with her. (Y/n) was too great a prize to ignore. The only true legitimate child of Robert Baratheon. The only one to have the blood of the stag race through her veins. And he wanted her. Wanted her to bare his own legitimate children. To be the lady of Casterly Rock. And even though he knew that Robert did not care for him, a match with a Lannister was better than most.

"I will not tell your father, (Y/n). You have my word." Jaime began. (Y/n) breathing a sigh of relief, with the knowledge that her work for the smallfolk would not be hindered.

"Though I do have one condition, for my silence." Jaime added. (Y/n)'s gaze turning back to the lion. The young doe only too happy to comply with any condition that the Kingsguard may have.

"Yes. Anything............."

"I would like you to do me the honour of allowing me to escort you to your name day celebrations, tomorrow evening." Jaime explained. A soft smile gracing his features as he waited for her reply.

(Y/n) had to admit that she was quite taken aback by his request. She knew that by allowing the lion to escort her, it would mean that she was showing him her favour as a suitor. That she would be telling the guests, her father, and the whole of Kings Landing, that Jaime Lannister was the man that she wanted. Yet he was a Kingsguard. He had taken the oath. And as such, he would not be able to vie for her hand. And if it meant that her secret would be safe, then there were worse things that she could do than let Jaime accompany her to her name day celebrations.

"Very well. I would very much like you to escort me to the festivities tomorrow. Now, perhaps, you would be kind enough to escort me to my rooms." (Y/n) agreed. Happily taking Jaime's arm and allowing him to lead her through the Keep. The young doe having no idea about the lion's plans for the following evenings events.

                                                          >>--------------------------------<<

"Where have you been?" Tobho asked harshly, as Gendry made his way back into the smithy. The young man not seeming to hear a single word that the master blacksmith had said.

"Gendry?! I sent you out for supplies sometime ago. Where have you been, boy?" Tobho added. Shaking his head as Gendry dropped the goods that the man from Qohor had sent him for, onto the table in front of him

"I didn't mean to be sa long. I had an accident. I bumped inta a lady. I had ta make sure that she was alright." Gendry tried to explain. The young man hurrying to get back to his duties.

"And what lady would be out on the streets of Kings Landing at this late hour? You were probably out trying to talk to one of Baelish's whores. No lady............"

"She was a lady. A beautiful lady! Her........her name was (Y/n)." Gendry interrupted. Almost shouting at the master. The apprentice not liking the idea that the old man would insinuate that (Y/n) was anything other than pure.

"(Y/n)? I only know of one (Y/n) in these parts. And that is the daughter of King Robert. The lady (Y/n) Baratheon. I have had the honour of meeting her once before. Her father commissioned a sword for a name day. One of my finest pieces of work, I may say. He allowed me the honour of presenting it to her, myself. I seriously doubt that the king would allow his daughter to wander the streets of the capital, at night. Now get back to your work. And in future don't let your head be turned by anything from the Street of Silk." Tobho replied as he made his way into the back of the shop. Leaving a confused Gendry behind.

The lady (Y/n) Baratheon? Daughter of King Robert? As unlikely as it seemed that a daughter of the king would be wandering the streets of the city at night, Gendry knew that despite what the master blacksmith may believe, the young woman that he had bumped into, was definitely the lady. That they had definitely kissed. And that she had promised to come and find him. Now all he had to do, was hope that she somehow would. And that he would be able to kiss the lips of the doe one more time.
