Tywin couldn't help but smile, as his sister began to drift off to sleep in the chair across from him. A chair that he had moved so that it sat next to the huge fireplace. A soft hum coming from her, as she snuggled further into the large fur that he had draped around her shoulders only a few moments before.

Since he had escorted (Y/n) to the Tower of the Hand, he and his sister had done nothing but talk. The siblings going over what had happened to them during their time apart. Tywin telling (Y/n) all about his role as Hand. About Robert's rebellion. About his life in Kings Landing. (Y/n) in turn telling him all about her life in Essos. In Meereen. About all the things that she had been able to do thanks to her husband. And how she was so happy to finally be back in Westeros. To be back with her family now that she was alone in the world. The pair only stopping their conversations when servants would come in with food or wine. The old lion unable to remember the last time that he had been able to speak so freely to someone. The last time that he had wanted to speak so freely. The last time that he had been able to be anything but the feared lion. Tywin having a feeling though, that the last time he had allowed himself to laugh so much. Had allowed the walls that had built up around him to come tumbling down, was when Joanna had been alive. Was when he would chase (Y/n) through the corridors of Casterly Rock. The oldest son of Tytos Lannister forgetting who he was, and what was expected of him, as he would happily hide around corners, and jump out to scare the tiny lioness that was trying to find him. (Y/n) always letting out an excited squeal before racing into his arms and holding him tight. The beautiful child giggling wildly, as her beloved brother would swing her around in the air. Tywin remembering that he had always promised her that he would be there for her. That he would never let anything happen to her. That she would never have to leave Casterly Rock. Yet little had he known at the time, that he would not be able to keep the promise about her never having to leave their ancestral home. That before too much longer, (Y/n) would not only be taken from Casterly Rock, but also from Westeros itself, not to see her family again until that very day. Tywin, as he watched the now deeply slumbering lioness, making those promises again. The old lion knowing that this time, no one and nothing would take his sister away from him.

Tywin couldn't help but continue to stare at her. The whole scene taking him back in time. Back to when the little lioness would sneak out from her bed, after the servants had laid her down for the night. The pitter patter of her bare feet running through the quiet corridors, making the oldest Lannister son smile. Tywin knowing that within a few moments, (Y/n) would be knocking on his door, wanting to be allowed to fall asleep in his bed. The young Tywin always pretending that he didn't like the idea, yet would still pick her up, so that the tiny lioness's feet were no longer on the cold stone floors, before carefully placing her on his bed and covering her with the fresh, crisp linens. Tywin watching her until she fell into a deep slumber. The handsome lion then scooping her back into his arms, so that he could take her back to her own room. The now Lannister patriarch, recalling how Kevan, Tygett, and Gerion would often say that their parents would never have to find her a husband, as Tywin would never let (Y/n) go. That they would swear that their oldest brother treated (Y/n) as good, if not better than any wife could hope to be treated. Tywin not caring then, as much as he didn't care now about the opinions of others, simply choosing to ignore the mockery of his siblings. Choosing instead to remember how he had promised his mother that he would always care for and love the exquisite girl. That he would always be her lion.

"Tywin?" A soft, sleepy voice came. The old lion shaking the memories from his mind, as he realised that some noise must have woken his sister. The older man cursing at whatever it was, as (Y/n) shrugged the fur from her shoulders.

"I am sorry, brother. I didn't mean to fall asleep. I am sure that you have much better things to do than watch over me. I know that the Seven Kingdoms do not run themselves. And I have a feeling that I have already kept you from so many of your duties. Perhaps you could get a servant to show me to my apartments." The lioness continued, as she slowly rose to her feet. Her hand quickly reaching for the arm of the chair, as her exhausted body struggled to stay upright. Tywin jumping up from his seat and taking her into his arms. The lion picking her up and making his way through to his bedroom.

"Nonsense. You can stay and sleep in my bed. If you feel stronger in the morning, I will escort you to your rooms myself." Tywin insisted, as he kicked open the door, and placed his sister's form softly on his bed.

"Tywin, really. Please don't worry so. I am fine. I am as strong as anyone else in our family. Anyone else that is privileged enough wear the red and gold of the Lannisters. And I have been through much harsher times than just having to sit on my backside in carriages and ships, as we made our way here. I am no longer the little girl that used to run to your room because she couldn't fall to sleep without knowing that her big, brave lion was watching over her. Now, I should go to my own room." (Y/n) replied with a drowsy chuckle, as she tried to get to her feet. The lioness dropping back down, as her brother gripped her hand tightly.

"Then stay for my sake. I believe that I will be unable to rest, unless I know that you are here. Unless I know that my little lioness is here to watch over me." Tywin explained softy. The old lion hating sounding so weak. So needy. But knowing that he didn't want to let (Y/n) leave his side if he could help it. Not now that he had her so close. His eyes closing, as (Y/n) placed her hand on his cheek.

"How could I say no to you, brother. But you must promise that you will not just sit there and watch me like you used to. That you will go and do whatever work you need to do. And when you are finished, you can come and get in the other side of this huge bed of yours. I do not want you to fall asleep in the chair." (Y/n) replied, as she slipped off her shoes, and drew the covers over her. A soft smile pulling at her lips, as Tywin kissed her softly on the forehead.

"You have my promise." Tywin agreed, as he blew out the candle. The old lion knowing that he would be more than happy to join her. That he would be more than happy to try and persuade her to stay in his bed. That he would be more than happy to never have his sister leave his side again.
