"Would you like a glass of wine? Tyrion had me bring a bottle of the Keeps finest to my rooms before I had to go and see your father." (Y/n) asked, as she moved over to a golden tray, and poured some of the deep red liquid into two glasses.

In truth, she was using it as an excuse. Using these few moments to try and settle her jangled nerves. To control her wildly beating heart. To try and push all the emotions that she was feeling, as deep as she could.

"Why didn't you speak to me earlier, (Y/n)?" Jaime asked. Nodding in thanks, as (Y/n) handed him his glass.

"Its not that I didn't want to. And I wasn't being rude. It was just...........I had been speaking to your father. And then Tyrion...........I suppose I just got a little carried away. It's been so long since I have seen your brother and Bronn that I forgot myself. Allowed the moment to make me forget other things. I'm sorry Jaime. But here we are now...............So.............." (Y/n) replied, as she took a seat. The ward focusing her eyes on the glass in her hand. Not wanting to look at the beautiful man that was sat across from her.

"Why did you leave, (Y/n). Why did you run?" Jaime enquired, as he gazed over at her. The words, a question that he had wanted to ask for so long. A question that he had believed that he would never get to ask.

"I...........there were a number of reasons. I wanted to see what lay beyond these walls. To see what the world was like. I wanted adventure. To prove myself. To fight just like my father, your father had in their youth. And...........and well, your father had been talking of marriage before I left. He had said that I was more than an age to be wed. But.......but I couldn't, wouldn't allow Tywin to sell me as he had your sister. I didn't want to lay with a man that I didn't know and cared nothing for. Especially because there was already a man that I did love more than life itself, but never got the chance to tell because he............So, I ran. It may have been a cowardly thing to do. To not face the brutal truth of a woman's life. But I don't regret anything. I might have a few more scars..............."

"You loved someone...........? And scars.........were..........are you badly hurt..............?" Jaime interrupted, as he moved forward in his chair. His caring words and tone finally encouraging (Y/n) to turn her gaze to him. A small, reassuring smile creeping onto her lips as she saw the concern on his beautiful face.

"Well, not many go into battle without picking up one or two scars, Jaime. And I confess that I have been a little battered and broken over the years. But I am stronger than I was. Tougher than before I left. And fighting and beating such foes as a Dothraki, has certainly given me more confidence and pride. But now, I am well. No injuries. No illnesses. I am in rude health." (Y/n) replied, doing her best to avoid his question about love. The ward hesitantly reaching across and placing her hand on his.

"It is so good to see you again, Jaime. I missed you..............."

"Did you? Did you really miss me? If you missed me so much, why didn't you come back sooner. Why did you leave me in the first place? Do you know what it has been like for me without you............?" Jaime blurted out, as he tore his hand away. His tone now angrier. (Y/n) able to hear a little of his father in his voice.

"What.........? You might be Jaime Lannister. The Golden Lion. The Kingslayer and Kingsguard. But how dare you speak to me in such a way! Yes, I did miss you. I missed you more than you will ever know. More than I would ever dare confess. And I have wanted to come home everyday since I left. But I knew that I couldn't. Because if I did, I would still have to face what I had run from in the first place. To face........to face you. And what do you mean, 'do you know what it has been like for you without me...........?' You had made it very clear to the entire Seven Kingdoms, your father, and everyone else, once you took the oath, what you wanted your life to be. What your intentions were. That your sister was more important to you than anything else. In truth, am surprised that you even gave me a passing thought. That you can even remember my name. Now, I have had a very long day. So, I would appreciate it is you would leave me to rest." (Y/n) retorted, as she got to her feet and placed her glass back on the golden tray.

Jaime scrunched up his eyes and steadied himself. When he had come to see (Y/n), the last thing that he wanted was for their meeting to turn into an argument. He had come to tell her that he was so glad that she was home. That she was back with him. That he loved her and was prepared the forgo the oath. To leave his sister. To become once more his father's heir. To take his place as the Lord of Casterly rock, as long as she was by his side. To have children that he could admit were his. Children that he could be proud of. Yet it had all turned into one of the squabbles that they would have as children. One of the fights that would ensue, whenever she saw him with a girl. Whenever he saw her laugh at a boy's joke. Whenever either of them would even smile at a pretty............And then it hit him. How could he have been so foolish. So blind for so long. Could the person that she had loved. The person that she hadn't got the chance to tell, be him? Could (Y/n) have always felt for him, as he had felt for her. Cersei being the only thing that had kept them apart.

"(Y/n).........I'm.........I'm sorry. I didn't mean...............I don't want to fight. I never wanted to fight with you." Jaime said, as he came up behind her and placed his glass on the tray. His hands holding onto the edge of the table. His arms caging her.

"I'm sorry too, Jaime. I don't want to fight either. I..............."

"Please look at me, (Y/n). I need to see your eyes. To be able to look into your face." Jaime begged. His heart thumping, as he felt her tremble against him. As she slowly turned and looked into his eyes. His hand reaching up to brush a single glistening tear from her cheek.

"Did you leave because of me? Because I took the oath? Was........am I the man that you love, (Y/n)............?" Jaime continued, as he moved his hand so that he was gently holding her chin. Stopping her from averting her eyes. For he knew that lips may lie, but (Y/n)'s eyes never could. An small smile making his way onto his lips, as he saw the answer that he wanted in her sparkling orbs. The Golden Lion hating it that his oath, that Cersei had been the reason that he had lost the woman that should be his. Jaime promising himself that he would make up for all he had done to hurt her. That he would not let the oath or Cersei come between them again.

"(Y/n). I..........I............" Jaime whispered. His lips moving closer to hers. The world around them seeming to disappear, as they held each other close. Both of them closing their eyes, as they felt the others breath on their skin.....

Suddenly, there was a loud banging on the door. A knock so hard that it felt as though the wood might splinter. The lion and the ward jumping apart as another knock came. (Y/n) taking one more look at Jaime, before making her way to the door and opening it. The opening seemingly to be completely filled with the form of Sandor.
