chapter six, White water

We sat there talking over exactly how long i'd known aunt mel.. or river song as i now know her to be, i told the doctor everthing i could remember and everything river had ever told me about my life before i started to forget things.

My basic background of growing up in yorkshire with a big family but being an only child to a single mother, being smart at school until i started to become ill and of the many visits from my lovely if slightly eccentric aunt .

Nothing out of the ordinary or exciting except when i came here and obviously i didn't remember that till recently. To be honest we were at a loss to explain rivers' response to us knowing eachother so it seems there is only one thing for it, we needed to speak directly to river and find out what's going on.

The doctor insisted i stay here at the house so as not to anger river further but i in turn demanded he take matt with him so that he had someone to stop him getting a slap . Matt wasn't too pleased with this plan and wanted to stay with me and keep me safe, but after i pointed out she was angry with the doctor not me matt soon saw sense and headed to the tardis with the doctor, who to be honest looked as if he was going to keel over .I caught up to him and grabbed his hand , " if she's really mad , bring her to me to talk to" i kissed his cheek and then matts' before they turned the corner and went into the tardis.

P.O.V. MATT.

This is madness, we've been chasing after river for three days , that's three days of being bumped around in the tardis and the doctor is getting close to braking point. River seems to know just how to avoid us and the one time we managed to get her in here she swung for the doctor after he shouted at her acusing her of being an interfearing busybody, unfortunatly i got inthe way of the fist so i'm now sporting a black eye. The doctor has decided to get pro-active with the situation so was taking us to stormcage the night of the party.

When we got there river was just returning to her cell, "hello my love, i thought you'd be paying me a visit but not this soon" she said with a small smile.

"well we've just spent the best part of three days chasing you around the galaxy, but in the end i decided i was sick of your games , so we took a shortcut"  he was obviously getting rather cross.

"all that rushing around didn't do anything for your driving skills by the look of your passenger,they don't usually end up quite so bruised" river replied pointing at my eye.

"me .. that was you " he shouted . "why would i do that, spoil a pretty face like his "demanded river , giving me a wink .

"you were aiming for him " i informed her

"oh , now that makes sense" she rolled her eyes." so i take it you want to know about amy? i saw her at the party, i was a little annoyed that you obviously have history"

"yes, that became apparent when you called me then slapped me while chewing me out about keeping secrets, which if you ask me is hypocritical of you considering the circumstances"

"nevermind , that doesn't happen now you're here early, naughty of you coming back along my timeline"

"oh shut up and get in the tardis, we need to get this sorted."

" why does anything need sorting, we're both friends with her, although i do find it a little odd you never mentioned her . But things are fine as long as you don't start taking her off in the tardis galavanting around the universe."

"why does it matter to you so much, you put up with my last assistent? "

"i knew she would eventually be gone , but amy is different. Once she's in the tardis , it will never let her go, not again you know she sometimes gets attatched to your strays as she puts it."

i was getting whiplash listening to these two so i took action, i grabbed river by the arm and shuvved her into the tardis, the doctor followed and locked the doors.

"doctor, get us moving amy has probably been sat worrying for ages, take us back early so we've only been gone a few minutes ,less stress for her that way" the whole time i was speaking the doctor was driving as i stood holding river by the arm.

A few minutes later we landed.
