It's now been about four hours since I originally met him. And, I haven't progressed whatsoever with getting to know him. All I knew is that his main responsibility is to protect me everywhere I go, no matter what, and that he apparently doesn't like others.
"Ok, fine, fine, I'll stop asking." I huffed out, annoyedly, in frustration. Though, nothing appeared to change about 10B once I spoke those words. No position shifts, no aura shifts─no nothing.
Why did they give the most difficult android a bodyguard assignment?
Without a word, I resolved to get up, grab my bag, and leave the room into the forever sunlit camp centre which made me squint a little as I've been in the room for a good while. Usually, I wouldn't have really done that... but, I'll admit, I was letting my emotions get to me.
I was actually pretty patient with communicating with the androids, letting them take their time to open up to me if they required it. Yet, they were always nice about it. But for him? Oh no, I deemed he was just a nice but distantly quiet android like 1X was when I first met him, but no. That was a façade for 10B.
No matter what question I asked, he just replied with little to no answer. Not to mention, if I said something that he apparently didn't like, he was so rude about it!
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" I heard his voice call out after me as he immediately followed me out, seizing hold of my arm with a rough force.
I get that androids didn't have humans around before me, but that just hurts! If he squeezes anymore I think he'll end up breaking my arm.
"I was just going to see if any of the Resistance members needed help." I retorted, trying my best to ignore the death grip.
"And, you think you can just leave without telling me?"
"Look, I don't need an android up my ass, especially not one who is unreasonable and arrogant."
His enraged facial features fell into his usual poker face before his lips somewhat shifted into a subtle smirk as he let out a low laugh, "And you think that I want to follow around someone as irritating as you? So what? You're the last human, you're nothing special."
I was astonished but his words. He clearly wasn't like any of the other androids... though, that was obvious even before he said those words.
"Would you look at that! The Commander sent her pet out for once," someone─another YoRHa-affiliated android─who just entered the camp commented.
"Oh, wow, and what? He's supposed to be protecting (Y/n)? I doubt he can do that," the other android, who entered following the first, acknowledged.
"Yeah, he's only built to kill after all. I wouldn't put it past him killing her either," the two of them ended up laughing before 10B shot them a glare, which quickly shut them up. I watched as their determiner graduated from confident to terrified as they scurried away in their desired direction.
Why are they so afraid all of the sudden? And what do they mean by... 'wouldn't put it past him killing her'? Oh, why me?
Ten let out a quiet, low growl before hauling me along─still very harshly─with him out of the camp's entrance.
"Unit 10B, your current assignment is to─"
"Shut up, Pod." he snapped back.
God, he's like a ticking time bomb.
"And, you," Ten addressed sharply, barely even giving me a glance, "Stay quiet."
All I could do was nod with no clue where he was taking me.
