𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧: 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥

7O filled me in on what happened. Apparently, when 2B and 9S had arrived there, the cargo ship came under siege by machines. Then a Goliath machine, one they identified as a machine named Grun, came up from the ocean. He said that the fight was long and 9S had the ultimate blow. However, when the machine sent off a massive EMP wave─along with the large blast from the missile that Nines sent─it knocked every android in the vicinity out. And, since the wave was so powerful, it also sent my android boyfriend flying.

'Android boyfriend', so odd to say that in my mind. Probably sounds weirder out loud.

"So, do you have any clue where he'd've gotten sent to?" I asked, walking beside the male operator. All I got in return was a shake of the head.

Not even the most high-tech androids know where he's at. Is that why 2B was sent to get something from the Resistance to assist her in 'finding him'?

I sighed, watching as 1X was slashing and dicing the machines that got too close. Because of the recent activity among the machines, they were rowdier. I was astonished to see that even 7O was fighting them off. "Do all the operators know how to fight?"

"No. I'm one out of... I believe three." 7O bluntly claimed, not appearing to want to talk about it. "One, I think we should head towards that crater. Maybe he fell down there."

1X directly stared at him with a concerned expression. "But, wouldn't that be more dangerous for her? I know that 'she' wanted us to bring her along. However, there are larger machines in that crater and there's only two of us."

Before I let them start arguing, I jumped in; "1X, you don't believe that you two could take care of me? It's not like I'm going to run off... and, aren't you a unique type of unit?"

The unmasked, blue-hued android groaned. He makes it seem like he was caught in a loop of some sort. "True. Fine, you stick close to us. I don't want to have to become a part of a search team to find you too."

"Not to mention, all of YoRHa would be in a frenzy." Seven chimed in, "We don't want the only human left being killed."

The operator's dark green eyes held a bit of melancholy to them. But, it wasn't like any other emotion I've seen an android express. He actually seemed human at that moment, it kind of scared me.

Without much of any more complaints about my safety from 1X, we made our way down to the huge hole in the middle of the city ruins. 7O kept my hand in his, he had said it was a way to make sure I didn't separate from the two. 1X on the other hand, well that was a whole another story.

He was no longer just slashing and slicing at the machines, he was full-on slaughtering them. Seemingly ripping them in half with his spear. I was so glad, at that moment, that he was protecting me and wasn't against me.

Seven must of noticed me observing the experimental android and clear his throat for my attention. "1X and 2X are quite scary in certain situations. They're more powerful than any other android in YoRHa. Have you ever heard of berserker units?"

"Berserker units? Not that I recall." I shook my head. 9S nor 32S ever told me about berserkers. "Is that what 1X and 2X are?"

"Yes... in a way─"

"Hey, I know you're giving one your little lesson about androids, but I got something from 2B. We gotta move." 1X cut in.

Crap, I almost I forgot─somehow.

"Oh? Is it coordinates?" Seven sought, dragging me over with him to where One stood.

"Yeah looks like it's down that ladder. Guess you're theory was correct... but it was also a pain in the ass." the blue-eyed male grumbled the last part. Scanning around the area, there were machine parts everywhere. But, not a single machine still standing.

Scary. But, excepted. Kinda.

"After you, One." Seven gestured, following after─while still sort of dragging me─the said android to the ladder downward. "Hope you aren't afraid of ladders."

"Even if she was, you're scaring her more."

7O laughed softly, in a way that I never heard from an android. But, it was short-lived, as he assisted me to get onto the ladder. 1X was already down there, looking up to make sure I wasn't losing my footing.

Thank god I wasn't put in that damn capsule in a dress or skirt.

Yet, with me in my thoughts, I slipped. I let out a mini-scream as I fell from the ladder, only to land in 1X's arms. "Jeez, scream any louder and there'd be machines coming. Watch what you're doing next time."

I huffed as he put me down. I still thanked him as 7O got to ground level and let out another laugh, patting my shoulder. He didn't seem like an operator at all. Let alone, he didn't even seem like an android.

They're sure he's metal and wires right?

2B glimpsed out, having heard all the commotion. "What happened?"

"(Y/n) shenanigans," 1X stated plainly before walking ahead. 2B just nodded, not investigating any else, stepping after him to lead him to where 9S should be.

"Anyways, we should get going. There's bound to be fighting, so stay close to me and, please, don't get in their way." Seven hummed, grasping ahold my hand and following after 1X and 2B.

Don't they notice how odd this is? They surely must've.

We wandered for a little, through the cave until we reached an elevator. I was feeling anxious. 9S couldn't have gotten down here on his own. Sure, he could've fallen in the carter. But, this underground? No way. He would have had to walk, which would be ridiculous. 7O should have picked up on this right? Or even 2B or 1X... right?

Our group took the elevator down, the only way could we go. It felt like an eternity until the doors reopened. However, as soon as they did we were ambushed.

I knew it! It was a trap!

My mind was screaming. 2B and 1X were already fighting but there were more of them. 7O shifted to me with a very serious expression. "Stay in the elevator. Understood? I'll open the door again when we're done."

He pushed me back into the elevator before a machine could land a hit on me, closing the door behind me. All I could do was sit there until he opened them again.

With my mind wandering, I sat with my back leaning against the doors furthest from the entry. Yet, I was tossed out of my thoughts when the elevator began again.
