"One, do you see him anywhere?" Two's soft voice arose from behind me as we watched around for Eve. It's been a little bit since we left (Y/n), 7O, 10B, and Luciel back at the little enclosure of trees and shrubs. We've been actively searching for Eve, having to take out several hostile, more irrelevant machines to get where we currently were standing.
"No, not yet. Where the hell is that bastard hiding?" I let out a heavy sigh, my grip on my spear tightening in annoyance. I still held onto my hatred of machines─albeit, it was a pointless thing as I knew what actually happened. And, I was trying to acknowledge them as equals... again, to shake off how my mental state recoded itself. For (Y/n) and 2X's sake, and for my sanity.
"Is that─?"
The tone of a distress signal grabbed our attention, cutting 2X off and making us exchange glances as we waited for the pods to commence. "This is─... requesting help─... machines are...!"
"That was Anemone, the Resistance is under attack!" 2X chimed, replacing her bracers with her blade as she took off sprinting.
"Right behind you!"

We ultimately managed to get there, after having to massacre a considerable handful of machines. The first thing we instantly discern was the dark, suffocating smoke escaping out through the exit of the camp. The next was the figure standing next to us, having arrived just as we did.
"Oh, 2B, how lovely to see you," I commented. I was a little surprised as I was last informed that she was deep in the factory, but she obviously made her way out since then.
"We'll have time for small talk later. We should hurry," she bluntly and sternly spoke before she started into the smoke.
"Ouch, glad to hear that the factory didn't change you one bit," I sighed before nodding as 2X and I trailed behind her.
Once we stepped foot into the mainframe of the camp, once we got out of the worse of the smoke did we truly see what was transpiring inside. Small fires were blazing in some of the corners and the bodies of the deceased littered the ground as machines continued their assault on the living. The three of us promptly split up, going in different directions and taking out the various machines that had infiltrated the camp.
It's remarkable how short the amount of time it takes for a completely secure environment to be turned upside down into chaos. Into death.
"Anemone, are you okay?" I inquired as I reached her, taking out the machine that was aiming to attack her from behind.
"Yeah, can't say that much for the others, however," she answered, bending her head to the bodies of her comrades.
"Fair enough, I'm sorry we couldn't get here sooner," I commented, feeling a small bud of hatred arise.
