Liam planned to just try to talk Nathan into breaking up with his beloved May. That was his first option. He wasn't sure of his second option quite yet. Possibly murder? No. That was psychotic. He wouldn't kill someone over a girl.
Would he?
Liam finally found the blond after the hour of searching for the abnormally blue eyes. He was standing at the bridge that goes over the crocodile-filled moats.
"Can we chat?", he asked shyly.
"Why of course. I have plenty of time on my hands, Pérez."
Great. Hopefully all of the time he had on his hands would allow the break up discussion to succeed.
"So, Nathan,", he began. "Exactly how attached are you to May?"
"Quite attached. She is my girlfriend after all."
Liam waited for any further explanation for a few moments before moving on.
He sighed. "I have a thing for her. And I have for months now.", he paused. "I was hoping that you might break up with her so I have a chance."
"No.", Nathan replied almost before Liam was even finished explaining. "I love her. I do not think that is registering in your dim mind."
Liam felt rather hurt by the last remark. He didn't think he was dim. Was he for thinking this plan was efficient? He began to think that he was.
"I get it. It's all right. I won't stand in the way." Liam choked out. He had to start thinking about another plan. He wouldn't give up that easily. He began to walk off before Nathan joined him, walking on the inside of him so that he still had a clear view of the moat, of which the students often called "The Place of Crocodiles."
"Do not pout about it. May would not want it."
The precise way he pronounced words and avoided abbreviations almost made Liam uncomfortable. Although the soothing voice overlapping with it made up for the discomforting precisness.
"I know she wouldn't. But I can't help but love her. You of all people should get it.", Liam said, hiding how upset he was under a neutral expression and voice.
Nathan examined Liam's eyes for a long moment. "Of course I understand. But you do not need to hide how upset you are. I can see it in your eyes. The window to the soul is what my mother has always called them."
"Of course.", Liam still hid under the neutral expression and voice.
Nathan suppressed a sigh by pretending to take a deep breath. He had his eyes trained on the moat, not watching where he was walking.
Liam's foot accidentally caught Nathan's shoelace and he fell over the extraordinary fencing into the crocodile-filled moat.
Before Liam could comprehend what had just happened, he watched as the clear waters turned crimson.

Hello loves! Quick question, do you prefer longer chapters or shorter chapters? If I make longer chapters, there will be more empty dialog, descriptions, and less frequent updates. I will try to make long chapters interesting if long chapters are what the majority wants. But until I have an idea of what is wanted, shorter chapters will still be taking up some space until I can get up to the climax. I hope to see you in the next chapter! Happy reading~!
