Weeks later, Liam went through all of the trouble to transfer to a new prepatory school only to find out that May unknowingly transfered there with him. Her seat was assigned right infront of his in their literature class. He knew it was always her favorite subject. It clearly remained her favorite, even after the Academy collapsed. She eagerly took notes on every word the teacher said.
"Now, what is subjective point of view?"
May's pale arm shot up at the speed of light. Liam could've sworn that it was faster.
"Subjective point of view is a point of view that is purely based on opinion rather than facts. A reasonable being would commonly disagree to a subjective point of view.", May said proudly.
With every word she spoke, Liam embraced it. Even when the words spoken in her soft voice weren't directed at him. Even if the thin, light pink lips were speaking complete gibberish, Liam would still gladly listen to what they had to say with every bone, muscle, and tendon in his body.
"Very good, Miss Volkov!", Mrs. Rin exclaimed. Mrs. Rin was always pleased with May. Which made May pleased with herself. Liam admired the confidence literature gave her. There was nothing wrong with being pleased with yourself, after all.

After school came around after what felt like days. Liam looked for May, not to talk to her, just to admire her from a distance. He finally spotted the brown, shiny head of hair.
May was animatedly talked to a girl with a shaved head, but her 4C hair made a peach-like fuzz on her head. The girl had dark skin that seamlessly blended with her black hair, and dark gray eyes that popped with her black hair and dark skin. Liam admitted in his mind that she was an attractive young lady.
He drifted his eyes off of the pair and started walking to his home, only 3 blocks away from the school.
He walked into the place that he called home, or what he used to call home, and was greeted with Annie's soft red mane of hair.
"Mom told you to take out the trash!", she taunted him.
Liam rolled his dark brown eyes.
"Tell her just a moment."
Liam went to his room first, tossed his backpack on his bed (which was no longer naked), and scarfed down a granola bar before taking the trash out.
He noticed May and the girl talking a few houses down the street. They must be quite good friends, is what Liam thought before they exchanged a peck on the lips.
A downpour of emotions came over Liam. He felt miserable. May's boyfriend had only been tragically killed 2 months ago and she moved on that quickly? Liam wasn't even quite over it. Or perhaps May was what he wasnt quite over.
He rushed to his bare bedroom that was still receiving updates. He pressed his back to the wall and slowly, not so steadily, slid to the floor. What was happening? He knew that May was happy, which should make him happy. But it didn't. And he couldn't identify why.
He finally put his finger on it.
He was jealous. He wanted to be the dark and beautiful girl. He wanted to be in her place. He wanted to be attractive in May's eyes and to have her precious love.
His body suddenly flooded into a Place of Jealousy.
