May watched as Darius's blood drained from his once strong body. What have I done? Is all May could think of. It finally came to her. This alley was her Place of Realization.

Murder. I'm a murderer.

May started to back away from the body until her back was pressed flat against the cool stone wall of a cement building. She couldn't believe it. She wouldn't. May Volkov? Goody-too-shoes? A murderer? That was crazy-talk.

Liam finally spoke up to interrupt May's degrading thoughts.

"May, do you have a paper with Darius's handwriting on it?"

May looked at him.

"Why?"

"Answer the question, quickly."

"Uhm, yes. I do. . .", she pulled out a piece of paper of which had the plans for that mission written in Darius's carefree writing. The only thing that seeing the paper did was increase her negative thoughts. It made it feel more real to see the writing that once belonged to him. He had writing. He had school. He had a life.

Liam studied the dirty sheet of paper for what could've been 20 years in May's mind, but was most likely only a few moments. He pulled a notepad, along with a pen, out of his pocket and began to write, glancing back at the plan paper every few letters.

"What are you doing?", May asked.

"Making a suicide note."

"Liam, no! Don't commit-"

"I'm not. I'm making it seem like he shot himself."

May thought about it as he continued to write it.

All she could think of was how smart he truly was.

Liam placed the note near the body that had just lost its warmth to the solid cold death it had just faced. Liam proceeded to put Darius's gun in his hand to make it look like he shot himself in the head, careful to not get his own fingerprints on it.

"Come on, May. We have to go."

"I don't have a place to go."

"You do now."

Liam swiftly grabbed her hand and started to walk down the road, not as sure-footed as Darius. He had Daisy's leash clenched in his free hand. The dog was trailing behind Liam and May, just as confused as they were themselves.

Liam carefully opened the door to his small townhouse, not wanting to wake his mother and step father up. It was getting later into the night, and if they found him sneaking into the house with a girl, he'd be doomed.

May was surprised that Liam still cared enough to bring her to his own home. A place to stay for the night. She had her second Place of Realization. She realized that he had never stopped caring, even after the way they left off. Her eyes shot everywhere as he brought her to his room, careful not to step on something or bump into something. She would hate to be the reason why they got caught.

Liam carefully opened the door to his bedroom, hoping for it to not make its usual squeaking noises. It made a few quiet squeaks, but they were short enough to where they could be dismissed as noises from the old, decaying foundation.

He graciously lead her into his bedroom. A dark bedroom. The bookshelves had a few math books and children's books in it, the wooden bed was coated with a soft blue comforter, there were posters that blanketed the walls, and the squeaky real wood that made up the floor supported it all. The room wasn't much, but it was far better than what May ever had. Of course, other than at The Academy.

Liam picked up her light figure with ease and laid her down on his bed. May felt the mattress shape around her. It was the most comfort that she had felt up to that point. Well, that was until Liam laid down next to her and enveloped his arms around her, lacing their bodies together into a beautiful pattern.

Before May knew it, Liam pressed his lips against hers.

It felt angelic to her. As if it was something she had needed for ages but never received. She was hungry for more. Maybe even thirsty, as well.

Until she remembered Caroline.

She hastily pulled back.

Liam opened his mouth as if he was going to mention something, but a giggle that belonged to a little girl interrupted what he would've said.
