Melissa McCall always had one goal in her life, and that was always to protect her children. After Rafael left, although she had trouble with money she still managed to give her children a somewhat normal childhood. She never thought that the supernatural even existed until she witnessed Scott and Jules turn when dealing with Matt and Jackson.
She remembered the way Jules would avoid her eyes, afraid that Melissa would see her as a monster. She recalled the way Jules cried after the family talked everything over. Jules was her youngest daughter and she couldn't even picture anything happening to her.
The day Jules got bitten, unbeknownst to her, Melissa felt her heart drop. Scott came in carrying Jules in his arms as her torso bled out. She could still remember his screams, his pleads for a doctor to save her. Scott didn't know if she would turn or die, but because of how much she was bleeding out he thought she wouldn't survive.
It was all very hazy to Melissa after that. Due to the fact that Jules was her daughter she couldn't be in the operating room. All she knew what that the wound was so large that stitches wouldn't be enough and that Jules needed a skin graft.
The skin graft.
Melissa had figured out along with Sheriff Stilinski that all the chimeras had to be genetic, and when she found Donovan's medical records that said he had a skin graft due to an accident he was in she knew the skin grafts were what made them genetic chimeras.
She admired the way Jules always cared about others. But at the same time Jules cared too much. To the point where it would get her hurt. When she saw the state she was in after The Dread Doctors injected her, Melissa thought of the worst.
She knew what had happened to the previous chimeras, and seeing the amount of pain Jules was in broke her. She didn't want to leave Jules, yes she had Brett with her but Melissa couldn't just leave her.
Even with Jules' pleads Melissa still felt guilty. Not only was her daughter dying but so was her son. When she made it to the library she could see Mason sitting next to a dead Scott, and Melissa couldn't help but scream his name. "Scott! Scott! no, no, no, no, no, no, no..." Melissa mumbles as she begins to give Scott chest compressions. "What..." Mason says aloud knowing Scott was long gone.
"One, two, three, four, five..." Melissa continues. "What are you doing?" Mason says over her counting. "What are you doing?" Mason asks again. "Bringing him back." Melissa screams at the young boy. "But his... his heart. He...he hasn't had a pulse in over 15 minutes. You can't bring someone back that's-."
"He's not someone. He's my son. And he's an Alpha. And he's too strong to die like this! Come on! Open your eyes and look at me, okay? Come on. Breathe, baby. Breathe." Melissa says as she continues the chest compressions on Scotts chest, Mason shaking his head at this. "Melissa, it's.-."
"Shut up! He's too strong to die like this. Come on. You can do this. You're an Alpha. You're an Alpha. Come on, Scott. Roar. Come on! Come on, Scott. Roar!" Melissa screams as her fist makes contact with Scotts chest.
