Why the villainess ran away

Chapter 10

The workload was massive, as always. I wasn't bothered to do much, so I dumped it on my butler. I'll have to give him a raise. There were so many annoying bugs flying around, especially with the disappearance of the young lady. I have not heard of her before this, she had rumors of her notoriety and now that she has disappeared everyone claims to despise her.  I'd feel pity for her, but she's probably dead now.

Anyways,with  her death impacting  the social world a lot, with all her enemies thriving and her accomplices hiding, the social structure really changed. This means I have to rethink my plan. I can't possibly abolish the current hierarchy with the social structures changing from the roots, and such a surprising change too.

A sudden yet hesitant knock came from the enormous door, "Come in" I said, "Report".

The three men who came in now cowered with their faces hidden even more than usual. So they didn't find her. Suspicious... and... interesting. The Woman with traces of an ancient power from then has not been found by a whole group of trained, lethal assassins who deal with spying? It was not even a command for assassination... yet. I have to see what she knows and why she has that... and who she is.

I will have to look fpr her myself then. Quite annoying, yes, but necessary. If anyone finds out about the nature of dark Powers in this Empire, the repercussions will be severe.
I took my aim with the dagger in my hand, and threw it neatly on the wall just to the side of the most jittery shadow.
"ufff... we Are safe for now", the shadows sighed in relief after thinking they would all loose their lives today.

The greatest villain of the story was known for doing just that. He was a benevolent tyrant, benevolent and caring  to those on his side, but monstrous to those on the other.

Hmm... let me think... ah yes.... I'll track her powers myself. He stood up from his chair and made his way to the balcony, where he looked up to the night sky and smirked at the stars. He remembered the night they met, a flood of frustration at her escape and curiosity drowning him. He didn't complain though,instead he shut his eyes. He liked the suffocation and the coolness of that flooding water. They reminded him of the pain, who he was, and what he had to ultimately do. After a long moment, he blinked his eyes back open with a look of victory, staring into someplace in the night only he knew.
"There you are.",he said and disappeared with a tendril of darkness, as if he was never even there.

Author's note: would anyone kill me if I quoted L in a future chapter?just a question... I totally won't quote his whole speech... haha.. haha.... Ha. And also on a side note, some people may have noticed similarities to other manwhas... well yes... as I said before I think I read more than 600 manwhas, manhuas and mangas at this point(I posted recommendations and reviews) and in noooo way am I a professional writer. So yeah I took some things from:The lady wants to rest, The villainess wants to live, into the light once again, death is the only ending for the villainess, untouchable lady, I'm a martial art villainess but I'm the strongest!, Kill the villainess,it's not easy to be a villainess,please don't eat me, secret lady, a stepmothers marchen and mannnyyyy others. I'm sorry if you see anything too similar in the background but I'm really just trying to create a plot that is somewhat new and entertaining which hasn't been done before!<33 thank you all so much for reading!!

Oh and also if you like action manwhas( which you do, I'm telling you, you do) read solo leveling and chronicles of a heavenly demon. They have male mcs and I think no romance which I thought I would not like but actually I read them both in 2 days each.

If you do want a female mc though but the story is still with action and romance I recommend: I'm a martial arts villainess but I'm the best, I'm a spider, so what?(no romance ), Survive romance,north by northwest, golden forest,why she lives as a villainess, OH AND ALSO COLLEGE STUDENT EMPRESS SO GOOD I don't like the ml he's a manchild BUT STILL.
