Why the villainess ran away

Lilith's eyes danced around the alleyway like a pair of dancers doing the tango in fast pace. She tried calling anyone and everyone: her crew, Kiara... even a random passer-by, so that anyone could save her from this venomous man. And that he was. His gaze seeped with poison, and his body was sculpted like the sharpest sword. He was the most dangerous man she's ever seen. If this is how this random ass guy looks like... does the other villain of this world look like a fucking flamethrower or something???

Axion now had her completely cornered, with one arm lifted to the wall beside her head.
Her knee lifted up, waiting to contact his private area... and encountering air.

"No you don't", he said, evading my desperate kick and tripping me with one smooth kick. "I wanted to interrogate you first, but you're becoming a bit of a nuisance... I'll just kill you"

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??
WHY DOES THIS WORLD WANT ME DEAD SO BAD??
Oh i forgot, I'm the villainess.
Yawn.

Quick enough for him not to kill me, as i know he can, I reach for my dark powers. I don't care if anyone sees at this point. I attack him with all I can and... nothing. The power does not come.

It's gone.
As if it were never there.
Fuck.

Why now? Why here? Why today? Why not yesterday or tomorrow on i don't know, any day when i'm not facing someone who will SKIN ME ALIVE?

"Oh stop it",I kick at him again, slide left, attempt a punch and roll to my side. He smirks at me,"Not such a weak lady now, are you?"
He counters me by slamming me against the wall. The railing shook sinisterly and nearly dropped onto my head, dust falling like a sheet of snow. I realize i really cant win. I came all this far. I got my freedom, just to die like this?
No way.
I mean i could die again, and maybe I'll be reborn ... but who says now that i somewhat escaped my fate i won't just... die?

My pride can go to hell. I'm not dying today.
I gasp as he grabs me by my neck.
"Let talk this out."
"Nothing you say will change my mind"
"I swear I will fucking kill you when you let me go"
"I won't , though"

Blood rushes to my brain, dizzying my head, but i remain calm. I had much worse done to me. I look him straight in the eye and smile. He sees this and his face changes to an expression i cant discern for a split second.

"What if i tell you i know how the crown prince will die." I'm reaching at this point, bluffing my ass off. He doesn't know that though.
"What?" he asks.
"Did i stutter?  I know how he will die.. and I know how his assassin will die." His grip on my neck loosens slightly, and i gasp pure delightful oxygen. "In fact, I know how all the influential figures die. Which businesses will succeed and which will fail, as well as what secrets will be revealed soon." Well, this i do partially know because of the thousands of times i had to go through my villainess life. I did even succeed in a business once... well until someone's framed me for fraud and murder and all those tiny things.

His gaze becomes curious, amused. "How do I know you're not making this up? Mere lies of one about to face death?"

" I guess you'll have to trust me" I answer, without thinking. Oh Lilith, you really dug yourself a grave this time.

I'm full prepared for his sword to come swinging down on my neck when i hear him some guard from being me shout," Sir, we have a problem!"

Axion sighs, turning to me:
"Hmm, alright, my dear thief. I'll keep you alive on one condition."

Watch this be some cliche thing about me being working under him.

"Don't make it anything to do with heights, i'm not good with them", I was, in fact, good with them. Guess i'm a pathological liar.

"You aren't in a position to be bargaining, thief", he said, placing his sword tip near my heart.
"Swear on Aray that you will be in one km radius of me at all times... and you will have to talk to me whenever i call upon you"

Oh no. This is the worst deal ever. Why isn't he killing me? Why does he want to see me instead? Why is he making me swear on Aray, a god of a long forgotten evil country? Wow, does he think me that evil.... never mind.

He takes his hand of my neck and moves slightly back, allowing me space to make the contract. I lift my hand to him, a glint in my eyes. His hair was pitch black, dancing in the wind as if he was a fallen angel straight from the depths of tartarus.

I get reminded of that fact when he cuts my hand deep, adding one more scar to the collection. Blood seeps on the floor where we stand. Then he hands me the sword. My mouth goes wide open. Does he really expect me not to kill him now? Then i realize one of my hands is now shackled to the railing on the wall. How did i not realize that? Did he sneak past my magic barrier so easily and even got past my perception magic?

He's on another level.

Sword still in my hand, resigned, i make a small cut on his palm, and our blood joins on the ground. I start with the contract regulations,"God of Araysh, Aray. I swear upon my soul, my life and my love that I will speak to Axion when he calls upon me, and be.." I glance at him in disgust," one kilometer maximum away from him at all times until he disregards this contract."

He smiles. It's not genuine, but i'll give him that it's very frightening. That should be a compliment, coming from a villainess.
"Good."
He turns and starts walking to the guard, and i take the chance to run. Just as I'm about to disappear completely, i hear him say, "Oh, speak to me at this time in a week."

Fuck. How am i going to escape from this situation?

authors note: Soo i'm back from my slump!!Thank you all, it was horrible. However, i think i got over it because of some of the comments you were leaving, and i just want to thank you all again. This story has seen me grow and I want to make it better in the future... some chapters i wrote half asleep on an airplane at 6am, if you couldn't tell. Thank you all again and have a lovely weekend<3
