New Years (BNHA)

Dekus quirk is a mixture between Kamui Wood and Cementoss' quirks. He can make trees or branches grow from the ground at the drop of a pin. He was a late bloomer, though, he didnt get his quirk until middle school. Also, I'm going American traditions that I've grown up with, I don't know if they do them in other places (probably) but I only work on this on the bus so I can't do good research.

"21 year old Ground Zero amazingly becomes Number One Hero! How he managed to become the best? No one knows." The reporter sighs, shuffling his papers then straightening them, "Everytime we try to interview him, he just shuts us out and threatens to blow us up. How can such a violent person make such a wonderful hero?" They muse, before ending the section and continuing on. Izuku flips off the common room TV, hugging his notebook happily to his body.

Uraraka laughs as she enters the common room, "Freaking out about mister Ground Zero again?"

Izuku nods excitedly, "He's number one hero!"

"So I've heard. How are his teammates? Red Riot and Pinky, right?"

"Still working right beside him." (Btw to replace Bakugo, Mina, and Kiri is Shinsou and two OCs of mine. Tetsutetsu and Kendou are older as is Monoma, he's like Endeavor when it comes to Bakugo. Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire are the same age as them. All of the students in this story are 18 and 17 and in their last year of highschool.)

Uraraka shakes her head as Denki and Todoroki walk into the room. Denki smiles and walks up to Izuku, teasinginly hanging off of him and smiling, "Oooh. Izuku's crush just got big!"

Izuku flushes, "He isnt my crush! Also, that wouldn't ever work out."

"Why not?"

"One, he's three years older than us. Two, he hates me and probably still thinks I'm quirkless and weak."

"What?" Todoroki asks curious, "Have you met him before?"

Izuku nods, "We grew up on the same street. He was seven when it was believed I was quirkless. That caused him to think I was weak and useless. He called me Deku, which means useless, and would bully me." He shows his shoulder which is severely damaged with a burn scar, "This is what he did to me before he moved away."

"But you aren't quirkless?" Denki asks, confused.

"I'm not, but I was just a late bloomer. I got my quirk after he moved away, so he probably still believes I'm a 'stupid Deku'."

"Wait," Uraraka cheers, "Do you know his name?"

Izuku shakes his head, "I can't remember his real name. I just used to call him Kacchan."

Denki teases, "That's cute."

Izuku just lightly punches his arm, "Yeah well. That's not really useful anymore. I'll never see him again." He shrugs, writing something in his notebook. Todoroki, curious, leans over Izuku's shoulder and sees that he is on his 'Ground Zero' page. The heterochromatic scans the page until he sees Izuku writing 'Katsuki Bakugo (Kacchan, Ground Zero)' and underneath he writes 'Quirk-Explosion. Explosions are caused from his hands due to unnatural sweat, the sweat being nitroglycerin. Inherited from his mother, Mitsuki Bakugo.' Todoroki just smirks and taps Izuku on the shoulder before tracing his fingers on the name. Izuku rolls his eyes, lightly writing in pencil 'you don't believe I tell the truth all the time do you?' Todoroki just smirks and shakes his head.

Leaving the conversation at that, the four talk about school and what they're doing during Winter Break.

"My parents are going to be getting ready for a huge party with all of their coworkers." Uraraka cheers, "I'm gonna be helping them a lot."
