Logan goes to talk to one of the guards while Patton and Virgil whisper to each other, "Thank you for organizing this Mitchell."

"No problem." Mitchell smiles. It's truly a goofy and childish smile, his brighter teeth showing with his joy. Logan smiles and turns to talk to Virgil.

"If you two ever need anything else, feel free to notify me and I'll help you out the best that I can." He bows to the two men, who bow in response, "Now, I must go. I'm usually busy after a punishment ceremony." Virgil bows once more before turning quickly, causing his robe to soar through the air and the decorations on his hat to jingle with a soft, pleasant noise. His robe continues to flow in the air behind him as he walks with his quick pace. His chin length black hair is tied into a low ponytail as usual.

Patton makes a small noise and jokes, "How does Virgil get all the attention from the princes."

Logan blushes, "I guess someone that charming can't not be noticed."

Not to mention everyone sees him. He's a witch and apparently witches are bad." Patton says clasping his hands in front of him and tilting his head like a puppy.

The prince shakes his head, "I don't understand how people believe that. If they took even a few minutes to talk to him, they'd learn that he is a peaceful person." Patton nods, a distant smile on his face. Logan tiles his head oh so slightly, "Are you alright?"

"Yeah." Patton looks at him properly, "I was just thinking. I've been friends with Virgil since he moved here. And I'm his only non-witch friend. I've tried to get him to talk to more people but he refuses to. I think he's gotten to the point where he doesn't care anymore."

"Why do you think that?"

"Well. We were teens when we met. He would run around talking to people, asking them to be his friend. They always rejected him and pushed him away. He never stopped trying, but..."

"But?"

"He slowly started giving up. By the time we were eighteen he officially gave up. He stopped talking to really anyone but me and his few customers. Then Prince Roman found him crying on a curb. I had left him to grab things to help calm him down from a panic attack and Prince Roman was able to help him." He offers a half-smile, looking down to his hands, "I hid behind a building to listen to their conversation. I heard Virgil telling Roman about me being his best friend, about how he was gay, and about how he has no friends. He opened up much easier with Prince Roman than he did with me."

The healer takes a deep breath "Soon, Prince Roman took Virge away from me. He gave him hope, even when no one wanted to be friends with him. Then Prince Roman broke his heart, so he's been having a bad time."

"Did Virgil ever tell him about his family?"

Patton shakes his head, "No. He was scared that Roman would've been able to put two and two together and kick him to the curb again."

"My little brother wouldn't have been intelligent enough to figure that out."

"Yeah, but Virgil didn't know that at the time."

"Is there anything you can tell me about Virgil or his hometown?" Logan asks, "I've been wanting to look into it but all the books that were in the libraries were burned when the ban was enacted.

Patton smiles, "I can't tell you much, I've never been there, but I can give you notes and things that Virge gave me when I asked him about it. They're back at the shop if you want to borrow them." Logan nods and Patton starts to walk away, Logan following close behind him.

Soon enough the two arrive at Patton's shop. The shorter unlocks it and walks in, closing the door behind Logan after he walks in. The man begins to look through his desk, looking for a large stack of papers.

"Y'know Logan." Patton starts, catching the prince's attention (he had been looking around the shop previously), "I think you're what Virgil needs."

"Why do you say that?"

"Well, you've been someone who's gone out of their way to help him. That and he likes you, I can tell. It's hard to see but the amount of times I've seen him blush, even under his makeup, while talking to you is insane."

"He wears makeup?"

"Yeah!" Patton cheers, "He's told me that it's a tradition back at his home. Like I said, I've never been there, but he says that it's normal due to the fact that a lot of witches and warlocks are born with natural markings. I don't remember much about what he's told me but I'm sure if you asked he would be willing to talk about it.

"Interesting."

"Everything about his hometown seems interesting."

"You are indeed correct Patton." Logan nods. Finally Patton grabs a stack of papers and bounds towards Logan, handing them to Logan.

"What all are these, again?"

"It's writing that Virgil did while back at home and notes from his studies. There's also a few notes that I've written down from the answers he's given me. He gave them to me while he was cleaning out his shop, figuring that I'd want to have them with how interested I've been in him and his traditions. You can take them, I've written down everything I need to know from them."

"Why are you giving it to me?"

"Well," Patton shrugs, closing his door and moving to look at his herbs, "I can tell that you're a curious person." He adjusts his glasses, looking up to the higher shelves, "And that you're very interested in Virgil."

"Good observations."

"Eh, not really. You're always asking questions and looking at things intently like you're trying to figure something out. You always seem to have wonder in your eyes all the time. Plus Virgil is a fascinating example of diversity and tends to raise a lot of curiosity."

"Correct. All correct. My father says that I have scholar's blood." Logan nods, "He says I get it from my mother."
