Trigger Warnings: Talk of death, death through a child's eyes, swearing, blood.
The song is By the Bridge by Logic.

Bakugo leans outside the door of Deku's dorm when Iida walks around, because one of the girls said that Mineta stole one of her bras. The class rep stops and stands near Bakugo, his arms doing the weird robotic Minecraft thing.

"What are you doing outside of Midoriya's dorm?" Iida almost shouts, "Do you plan on doing something to him Bakugo?" The teen's voice is full of scolding and he seems as though is about to rip Bakugo away from the door. That is, until the blonde aggressively shushes him and shakes his head.

"I'm not going to do anything to Deku. Leave me the fuck alone and move along." He hisses, "Go fuck around with the pervert of whatever you were going to do before you saw." Iida looks majorly offended until he gets over it and wearily walks into Mineta's room.

Eventually, more and more people find Bakugo, gathering around him in a growing group as to see what he's so interested in, only to hear humming from two people.

Deku sits in his room, strumming his guitar as to remember the strings and tune it. He then begins to strum the song he's known for many years now, waiting to sing.

Play the music

"Hey there, are you listenin'?
I just found a dead man by the bridge again
By the bridge again
Spread your wings and take the leap
Spill your blood all on the street by the bridge again
By the bridge again."
Deku sings, remembering the lyrics and chords of the song as if it were burned into his brain. Memories flood the boy.

Pause the music (there is going to be a lot of these, sorry)

"Izuku, sweetheart." Inko, his mom calls to him, "Have you seen your dad? We were going to sing to you for your birthday, but we can't do that if he isn't here."

"No mamma." Izuku, only having turned four today, says, "We should go out and find him." He cheers, heading to the door and throwing his shoes on.

Inko laughs at her son's antics, though she nimbly puts her own shoes on, being courteous of her new acrylic nails Hisashi had payed for at a nail salon. She grabs her son's hand after throwing on a light pink cardigan and together they walk out, heading towards the direction of the market that Hisashi went to earlier in the day to grab a few groceries.

Inko stops dead in her tracks when she heads under the bridge, only to see her husband being stabbed by a man in all black, two others behind him holding more weapons. She pulls herself and her son to the side, trying but failing to hide her son's eyes away from the sight of his dad as she calls 911.

Meanwhile, Izuku could see perfectly through her hand, watching in horror. He watches as the old wooden knife, originally a nice brown/yellow colour now was stained in a deep red colour, leading Izuku to believe that is was his dad's blood, on top of countless amount of other people's blood. He watches as his dad becomes pale as the blood gushes from the large gash in the stomach the knife continues to fall in and be ripped back out of, despite him already bleeding out to death. He watches as his dad's head lolls to the side, staring almost directly into Izuku's eyes with his own now lifeless ones. The boy watches as his dad's freckles fade from his face ever so slightly, which makes the boy reach for the four ones resting on each of his own cheeks.

Life becomes a blur of tears after that, hearing both him and his mom sob, though he doesn't realize he is sobbing as well, through clouded ears. He watches through his tears as his dad gets pulls away on a stretcher, despite the fact that one of the EMTs is telling Inko that he doubts Izuku's dear father would make it through. Izuku shyly walks up to where his dad was laying, the man's blood staining the road, his phone, and the sidewalk his head crashed into after the first stab. The boy shakily walks over to his dad's phone to see that it was on and unlocked, an app loaded on the screen. He reads over the texts to his mom, smiling at their planning over his birthday before he finds a single unsent text still waiting to be sent, 'Help'.
