Virgil weaves through the very loud crowd of booing and hissing people. He flinches and shrinks away from crude jokes and insults that are thrown in his direction. After what feels like forever, he reaches his shop. The witch unlocks the door and slinks inside, taking in the silence.
Knocking on the door brings him from his silence. He stands up from the door and turns around, looking through the small window. He doesn't recognize the witch that stands there, until they look up into the window and smile. Immediately he opens the door and lets the person in.
"Virgey! Hi!" They smile, embracing Virgil into a hug. The witch flinches but accepts the hug, reluctantly hugging back.
                              "Hey Kai."
"How have you been buddy?" Kai asks, pulling away from the hug. They take a moment to look around, "Shop be looking nice buddy!"
Virgil laughs, "Things have been interesting with me. How about you?"
"Nothing much has been happening with me. Still got fangs though!" They open their mouth slightly, showing off two sharp teeth. Virgil laughs slightly. When the two were younger they were messing around when Kai did a small spell wrong and grew fangs. Because no one knows the spell that they messed up or how they managed to mess it up no one can turn them back.
Virgile laughs again, "I can obviously tell. Anyways what brings you to the kingdom?"
"Well, Rose took me here when she came and told me that you were here. I wandered around and was able to find you during that wandering and exploring."
"God. I envy you and Rose."
                              "What do you mean?"
Virgil sighs, his fingers pinching the bridge of his nose, "Roman, the youngest prince, broke up with me a few days ago. And then I've found that I may fancy his older brother Logan."
                              "Why'd you two breakup?"
"Hah! I'm a fucking witch Kai, it was bound when he figured out I was a witch."
                              "Then what about Prince Logan?"
"He has respect towards me. He's a scholar and wants to learn about witches. So he has been nothing but kind to me and actually came in to buy a potion a few days ago."
"Interesting." They start looking around at the inventory in Virgil's shop, "Heard there was a punishing."
"Yes. Logan helped Patton and I out and made it happen?"
"Patton?" Kai's smile falls just a bit, "Is he a witch I never met?"
"No. He's a normal. A healer with a fun personality. I think you'd like him. Both him and Logan."
"Can't wait to meet him." Kai's smile comes back to their face as they run their finger along the cork of a glass potion bottle on the shelf in front of them.
"Go get all the witches from home and bring them here. I'm going to go talk to someone quickly then we can head out."
"Alright!" Kai nods and runs off. Virgil leaves his shop and walks to the healer's shop. He opens the door and walks in.
"Hey Pat!" He calls as he leans onto the wall near the door, the cold from the wall leaking through his clothes to his back.
Patton walks out, wiping his hands on his pants, "What's up kiddo?"
"A bunch of old friends stopped by. I want you to meet them and head out with them to grab a drink."
"May I tag along?" A very royal and firm voice asks from somewhere behind Patton. Logan.
"Sure. Are you willing to tag along Patton?"
Patton shrugs, "Might as well." Virgil nods and straightens from the wall. He beckons for them to follow him and he pushes out of the door. It takes a few minutes but all three eventually arrive at the shop. When they walk in there are four other witches and warlocks. He greets them with a small hug or a high five.
Virgil turns around to Logan and Patton, "Logan, Pat, these are Rose, Kai, Chance, and Maverick." Rose and Chance walk to Patton, getting along well almost immediately while Maverick and Kai go to Logan and Virgil, having a casual conversation next to the very bright and cheery group of three.
"So you're the prince that Virgey told me about, huh. Logan, correct?" Kai asks, throwing a smirk at Virgil.
"Yes, and you are Kai no?" Kai gives a simple nod, "Nice to meet you then." Logan outstretches a hand, which Kai immediately grabs and shakes. Logan says something about a strong handshake before pulling his hand next to his body again. The groups talk until it gets a bit darker outside. Virgil looks outside a small window making sure not many people are out right now. He doesn't want to mess with Logan's status for being seen with a bunch of 'low-life' witches and warlocks.
He turns back to everyone, "We're all clear. Which pub should we go to?"
"We should go to the Carivand Pub." Logan recommends, "They've got one hell of a whiskey." Virgil looks around to make sure everyone is fine with it and nods.
"Never been there. I'm willing to try it." With that, Logan heads out first. He leads the group as they walk out of the more rundown area and into a nicer area. Virgil walks next to him in silence while Rose and Kai walk behind them holding hands and quietly talking and Chance and Maverick laugh and talk with Patton.
About halfway through the walk, Virgil looks to Logan, "By the way, I didn't know you drink."
"Not excessively," Logan says without looking at Virgil, he takes a few seconds before finally turning to the shorter, "But yes, I do indeed drink. It helps me calm down and focus on other things. I get quite tense often."
Virgil snorts, "That's not very princely of you."
"Of course not. That's Roman's job. I never asked to be a prince, I'd personally much rather be a scholar."
"Either way, you'd be doing better than me and the others."
Logan minorly rolls his eyes, though he tries to hide it, "I'm going to change that, I just need your help."
                              "Of course."
Within minutes, the group arrives at the pub. They all step in and walk Logan guides them all to a table near the back, figuring the group wouldn't want a lot of recognition. They all sit down and decide on what they want before Logan stands up to order.
Logan got a cinnamon whiskey, Virgil got a rum, Kai and Chance both got a beer, and Rose and Patton are going to share some red wine. Maverick doesn't drink, he just wanted to feel included. Logan comes back soon after and everyone waits for the drinks.
A waiter comes up with a black tray full of alcohol. He looks around and starts passing around the drinks, "The whiskey for Prince Logan. The rum for the witch. Beer for the two weird ones. And the red wine for the healer. And, there are two glasses." Virgil groans slightly at the names, but grabs the drink anyways. He takes a sip of his rum and watches as Kai pours the wine into two glasses for both them and Patton. Patton doesn't drink much, but he takes small sips of the wine throughout the night.
After a bit of conversation, Chance takes a sip of his beer and shouts, "Let's play truth or dare!" Everyone agrees (after a bit of convincing) and Patton starts, looking around the table.
                              "Kai, Truth or dare?"
                              "Truth I guess."
"How much do you love Rose?"
"More than I can express in words, honestly." They smile and grab Rose's hand, holding it tightly. They look around, "Logan. Truth or dare?"
                              "Dare."
"I dare you to kiss Virgil."

FanfictionThis is just a bunch of oneshots I wrote that aren't horribly cringe from mulitple fandoms, or even books that I started writing but don't have the motivation to finish. I'm just throwing this out there bc I want to clean up my drafts a bit.
