CHAPTER 8

NARRATOR'S POV

The next day was like any other day for Selene. Except for how Claude acted towards her. She noticed how Claude would turn into a tsundere puppy whenever he's with her, which greatly confused her

And right now, She just finished her paperwork, and Claude, whose works is already done a few minutes ago is with her at this moment. They were having their tea time as scheduled and after this, she needed to take a visit to the Alpheus manor to discuss something far too important that it won't be safe in the palace due to eavesdropping servants

"Why do you have to go there? Can't that dog just come here in the palace?"
Claude spoke rather harshly since he still hated Roger for what he did to Selene 2 years ago

"Claude, I know you hate Roger but please remember he didn't do it on purpose. I'm pretty sure you know who was the mastermind of that incident. Plus, Roger and I are good friends now and he is living happily with Lady Elianna. He even told me that they were even thinking about kids and when they'll have them"
Selene giggled. She can imagine a mini Roger running toward his parents and sharing a hug from them. Ahhhh family...wait

"Kids?"
Claude tilted his head. Selene immediately covered her mouth when she realized what she just said...kids...cute and beautiful kids whose cheeks are irresistibly soft and chubby

She then quickly remembered the dream she had...a child with Claude. Her entire face became a color of a cherry when remembering the tradition of an heir...that means

"After we get married, do you want to have kids?"
Selene almost spat out her beloved Lippe tea. Just how straightforward is this man?!

"I- um-... I mean I do- but I mean I've longed to have kids!..."
She stuttered cutely which shot a total at his heart. Now his cheeks are also red

"Well, we do need an heir soon so..."
He stopped before he can continue any further after Selene abruptly stood up and left. Not forgetting to excuse herself of course. An empress must have proper etiquette even in certain situations

Walking towards her office, she sat down on the sofa near the desk and breathed hard for air. Her heartbeat was faster as she covered her reddened face. A few moments later, a knock was heard in the room

"Your Highness? It's Felix Robane"
The voice outside said, startling the empress

"Come in"
Then, immediately did Felix open the door to see the empress now checking the documents

"What is it, Felix?"
Selene said nonchalantly, pretending that she wasn't blushing nor stuttering a few seconds ago

And Felix, who didn't see the Empress's blushing state earlier on the tea break with Claude

"I wanted to ask you something, Your Highness"

"Hm?"

"...I know that I shouldn't pry on your thoughts or so Your Highness but I'm just curious. What do you think of His Majesty? Please don't get me wrong! Uh- Claude is my friend since childhood so-"
Selene got up from her seat and patted the knight's shoulder. A small giggle came out of her lips

"Felix, fear not. I have no such bad intentions for His Majesty. Plus, I was with His Majesty the moment I first entered the palace so it's quite understandable that you care for him considering your brother-like relationship with him"
Her words rendered him speechless, she easily understands him
