CHAPTER 10

NARRATOR'S POV

"W-wha?"
Selene knew she would get pregnant one way or another...but

'It was this early?!'
She was too stunned to speak as the doctor kept reminding her to rest and to also take care of her physical health. She slowly reached her hand unto her belly, feeling a tingle down her spine

"Does His Majesty know about this?"
The doctor shook his head
"I haven't yet to tell His Majesty yet, Your Majesty"

A sigh of relief escaped her mouth, she didn't want him to know for some reason
"If I remember, His Majesty's birthday is in a week...looks like I have a perfect birthday gift for him"
Selene felt joy in her veins, she couldn't believe that there was a being inside her...yet she felt dread as well

'Why...why do I feel like...I should be very cautious..'

Claude was on his way to visit Selene on their room. He slowly opened the door to see Selene asleep with a smile on her face. Just the sight made Claude all red once again

(Ohh boyyy...he a simp)

"Just how long are you going to notice?"

Time Skip - 1 week later

"Your Majesty, it's time for you to get ready!"
Selene's personal servant woke her up and proceeded to bath her along with other maids with milk and flowers and spent hours on making her hair and putting on her dress

'I know this is Claude's birthday but please...I feel like I'm being tortured with the corset'

"And all done! You look amazing, Your Majesty!"
The maid exclaimed at the sight of the beauty of the empress. Her outfit fitted her figure, revealing her waistline and off shoulder that revealed her collarbone and pale skin

"The preparations are done, Your Majesty"
A servant outside of the chamber announced, leaving Selene's eyes to brighten up

"Great, now that everything is prepared, let us go"

"Yes Your Majesty!"

Duke Asherton bowed in respect to Claude, who was currently sitting on his throne. After the greetings, he excused himself to converse with the other nobles

"Uhmm...Your Majesty, I still wonder why you didn't come with the Empress?"
Felix, Claude's personal knight asked in concern.The Emperor sighed at his worry

"The Empress was ill for a few days so it's better if she can get a few hours of rest"

'B-But today is your birthday Claude'
Felix sweat dropped but was relief on how caring Claude was to the empress

"Your Majesty, the Empress Selene De Alger Obelia has arrived!"
The announcement made all the nobles face the huge entrance door. When it finally opened, they were at awe. Some nobles were from different kingdoms and empires and haven't yet to see the appearance of the empress. Curious of the rumoured beauty of the empress, they tried to be in front of the crowd
