"Darling! I haven't been able to see you since your wedding day! How is my grandchild?"
Madame Eclat looked ecstatic at best, already giving little baby talk to the little princess inside the womb

"I miss you as well mom. And I'm sure the baby is happy to finally meet her grandmother"
Selene's mother placed a hand unto her daughter's growing belly, feeling small kicks from the little princess inside

Meanwhile, while both the daughter and the mother hung out, the father and the son on the manor had a talk as well

"Have you met the mistress of the Emperor, Asher?"
The former head of the Eclat Dukedom asked, curious at who the mistress is

"I have indeed father. But unlike the rumours from outside the palace, it seemed to be the opposite of what I've heard"
The former raised a brow while Asher sighed and began explaining

"As you have heard from the rumours, the Empress and the mistress were against each other...well they say it's mainly the mistress targeting the empress to steal her position and become the new empress. But when I went to visit Selene in the palace...she was having a friendly conversation with the Mistress whom I've learned the name was Diana. A illegitimate daughter of the king of Siodanna. She was given to the Emperor as a peace treaty and a way of their alliance. Even now, her and Selene seemed to get along very well and I've heard that Lady Diana has been the reason why Selene's hormones are in control during her pregnancy"

He coughed a little from the small sting of his throat due to speaking too much. He ushers a nearby maid to give him a glass of water while the former rubbed his chin with his fingers. It's expected for him though. He knows that his daughter has a heart of gold and a soul of an angel sent by the Gods. He raised her with the love a parent should give to their child. Spoiling her since childhood and preventing her innocence from disintegrating into pieces. But alas, kids grow up, and when they grow up, they lose their innocence

When Selene got poisoned, Asher was furious to the core that the magicians needed to knock him unconscious due to his rage that almost caused the destruction of the black tower. And once he woke up, the Duchess already died and Selene was announced to be pregnant which made the Duchess's words false about her infertility

"And what do you think of the mistress, Asher?"
Asher stopped his tracks. He was never the type to tell people how he truly feels, even his family

"...Selene might be a woman now, an empress, the mother of a powerful empire, the bearer of the future heir, and also a wife. But that doesn't change the fact that Selene is still naive. Many tried to sabotage her and ruin her reputation in the past. And if I have an honest opinion...I do not trust that mistress..and I never will"
The former smirked at his son's remark

"That's right. Just how I taught you...never trust anyone other than the ones in your heart"

"Diana...are you alright? You have been acting weird lately"
Selene was concerned for her. Diana was not acting like herself and it made her anxious

"What are you talking about Selene? I'm perfectly fine"
Her face got back to the shining Diana she knew, yet she isn't dumb...she knows something's wrong but Diana won't tell her

'I'll give her some time to think..maybe she'll tell me..maybe'
But she felt that something bad is going to happen to her but she doesn't know what. Let's just hope that she trusts her instincts

I swear I have a bad habit of making new fanfics every time I see a interesting story or maybe imagine it...

As I'm typing this...it's 10:59!!
