CHAPTER 14

"Like I said, you can't come with me Selene. You need to rest. And you need to stay here for your saftey and for the baby as well"

Selene was baffled when she heard that Claude was going to attend the banquet hosted by the King of Siodanna. Lately, his son, the heir of the Siodanna throne, had been gravely ill and the King wouldn't get out of his son's room until he was cured. Such a caring father

"But-"

"sighh...as much as I'd loved to not attend, the King and I have some...serious business and the banquet is the only time he can get out of his son's room"
He gripped the document on his hand a little too much that it started to crumple a bit

Selene, who noticed his state, gently placed a hand to his arm to ease him up. Yet the feeling of dread came up from her once again
'Why do I feel like this is a bad idea?'

"Please come back safely, Claude...and make sure you don't kill anyone, okay?"
She placed a soft kiss on his lips as it was now the day he'll be gone to Siodanna for at least a week

"I will"
Were the last words he said before taking off to the kingdom, Selene still felt the amount of dread earlier

'Why am I feeling this way? It's too tiring-"

"Empress!"
She stumbled a bit and luckily was caught by her maid

"Are you alright Empress? Should I call for the royal doctor?"
Selene shook her head at the question and rubbed the temples of her forehead

"No don't...I'll just take a nap..."
She walked back to the palace where she laid comfortably on the bed she shares with Claude

'What is going on?...I feel dizzy...I...I feel numb'
Her head felt jumbled and she immediately felt pain. She wanted to scream but couldn't, she felt so tired, she felt worried at what would happen to Claude in Siodanna

"Brother Travis! Please have mercy!!"
She screamed at the top of her lungs, blood seeped from her injured wounds

Her tears weren't effective though, Travis was a brutal man before meeting his fiancee. The only source of his change was his beloved Isabelle and now that she's gone...well...guess who's back?

"Hah! You begged for mercy despite the things you have done? Tell me, did your sister also begged for mercy when you killed her? If she did...did you gave mercy towards her. Because if you didn't, why should I?"

She felt a series of dread towards her spine

"Jealous will get you nowhere little red"

She remembers the words her sister spoke to her, the floor now matching the color of her hair...red

She walked down the wooden stage where hundreds of people yelled and throw things at her

"A witch!"

"She killed our beloved Crown Princess!"

"She deserves to die!"
