Today was just one of those days. I woke up this morning feeling shitty as ever for a reason no one even knows. As soon as my feet touched the cold wooden floor beneath the bed Jack and I shared, I knew everything was only to get colder. I groaned and pulled my feet back in, under the warmth of the covers and rolled over, expecting to feel a sleepy Jack laying next to me. Instead, I grabbed a bunch of air and rolled further than I had expected, completely falling off the bed. Of course, Jack showed up at the same time I had tumbled and laughed hysterically at me as he helped me back up into the bed. I frowned at him and flipped him the finger.

"What's wrong, (Y/N)? Did you wake up on the wrong side of the floor?" He asked, chuckling at his own lame joke. I rolled my eyes at him and flopped back down into the comfort of the mattress. "Fuck off, Gilinsky." I mumbled into the pillow.

"C'mon babe, it's beautiful outside and I really want to test out the new snowboard we bought yesterday!" He begged, lightly tugging at the hem of my t-shirt. I groaned and swatted his hand away. "No." I simply state, not feeling the need to explain my reasoning. His hand pulled away immediately, but soon enough I was enveloped in his strong arms as he pulled me into his chest.

"What's wrong, baby?" He asked, kissing my forehead. I shook my head. "I don't know, it's just one of those days." I answered. He nodded. "Are you on your period?" He asked. "No!" I snapped harshly at him. "I already had it this month, why are guys so quick to jump to conclusions!" I ranted. I expected him to pull back and roll his eyes at my annoyance but instead he hugged me tighter. "I'll cheer you up, (Y/N)." He offered. "I'll be back in a sec."

He got up and left the room, heading downstairs. A couple seconds later, I heard pots banging in the kitchen, but I was too tired to fully comprehend what was going on so I slowly drifted back to sleep.

I woke up again to the smell of pancakes and bacon sizzling on a plate in front of me. My eyes shot open and suddenly I sensed the hunger that I had blatantly ignored earlier. I looked up a little further than my tall cup of warm milk to my beautiful boyfriend Jack, who stood there and stared at me with his goofy smile. He plopped into bed next to me. "Eat, baby. I made breakfast for you!" He announced, proud of his meal. I giggled at his excitement, and took a bite of the pancake. Surprisingly, it was delicious.

"I told you I could cook. Last time I just took them off the pan a little too early." He defended. I giggled and smiled at him. "It's okay, it's lovely. Thank you, I'm already feeling a little better." I admitted, enjoying his act of kindness. He kissed me on the nose and turned on the tv. After I finished, we watched a couple episodes of How I Met Your Mother and then a couple of Disney movies. He brought out some cookies and cream ice cream and kettle corn and we spent the day eating and laughing and spending time together.

Eventually, the night rolled in and we were both very tired. I was feeling very happy now, the spell of a bad day lifted by Jack.

"Thank you baby, for making me feel better. I love you." I thanked him. He smiled and gave me a loving kiss.

"Of course, baby girl. I love you so much and I'd do this over and over again if needed, as long as I get to spend time with you!" He said.

I smiled. "Thank you, Jack. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

I turned off the lamp and turned into his chest, my head against his heart.

"(Y/N)?" He asked.

"Yes, Jack?"

"Can we still go snowboarding tomorrow?" He asked, hopefully.

I giggled and looked up at him, pecking him on the lips. "Yes, baby, we can."

He grinned down at me and brushed a couple loos strands out of my face. "THANK YOU!" He quietly exclaimed. I chuckled at his excitement.

"Goodnight."

And with that, I fell asleep in his loving arms.
