One week later

The Midnight Race club was quiet. It has been quiet for a whole week now. If the club wasn't only for the members, there would be a sign hanging from the door: closed indefinitely.

Mix shuffled into the club, hair dishevelled, eyes tired and swollen from not enough sleep and frequent crying.

"Uncle Miiiix," the squeaky voice of little Alianna lightened up the place.

Mix's lips curved into a big smile as he squatted down and embraced his niece into a tight hug.

.....

On that day, after paramedics took Earth and strictly told Mix that no matter who he is to Earth, he can't go with them, Mix's rational side of mind started working again. At least enough to remember that Owl and other Jack's men were still holding everyone in the club, waiting for dead man's commands.

It was time to take a deep breath and focus. Taking out the phone from his messy clothes, Mix dialled Tay's number.

"Mix, what a surprise," Tay cheerfully said to the phone.

"I shot Earth, "Mix immediately said, there wasn't time for small talk.

I shot Earth. The moment these words left Mix's mouth, it became real. He shot Earth. The gravity of that situation fell on him like a rock. He shot Earth. He shot  Earth. He shot Earth. He shot...

"What did you just say?" Tay's tone was low, serious.

"It was Jack who forced me to do it. I swear I didn't want to. I swear. Please, you have to believe me, Tay. You have to," Mix was trying his best not to break down while he was on the phone with Tay.

"Jack is here?"

"He is dead—I killed him." Saying that made Mix feel the same way he felt when he saw Jack's lifeless body on the floor; nothing. He didn't feel remorse or sadness. Maybe he should. Maybe— but he didn't care.

"You killed him?" Tay's voice sounded more and more confused with every new information Mix blurted out. "Mix, you have to tell me what happened. I can't help you if I don't know what's going on."

Mix took a deep breath, "Jack forced me to kill Earth or else he would blow up my club with all my friends in it, with my brother in it—"

"Kit? What?"

"I will explain everything later, I promise. Right now, I need you to take other agents or something and go to my club. I can't do this alone. There are too many of Jack's men there. Tay—"
