"Sometimes you can find peace of mind by transferring yourself to different situations. They are just reminders to stay...calm."
- Yves Behar
"What?" Mix's voice was small. He must have heard wrong. Earth didn't tell Mix to kill him. He didn't. He promised to stay with him.
He promised.
"Earth, you are surprising me more and more. I'm almost sad that you have to die. Almost." Jack leaned on the office desk and turned back to Mix, "come on, son, be an obedient boyfriend and do what he said."
"I...no," Mix started shaking his head, his lips trembling, "I already said, I'm won't do it."
Jack sighed, "stop saying no to everything I say. I'm running out of patience here."
"Mix—look at me. It's okay, you can do it. It's okay, it'll be alright." Earth was speaking softly, reassuringly almost, as if killing him was nothing Mix should worry about.
The first tear fell from Mix's eye, he was looking at Earth, "please, don't make me do this. Please don't."
"It's okay, baby, come closer. You can do it....it won't hurt me if it's you."
Mix was still shaking his head, the tears were blurring out his vision, wiping them with his shaky hand wasn't helping anymore. He made a few careful little steps towards Earth, trying to ignore any thought, any idea of this being the last moments of seeing Earth alive, talking to him, feeling his presence.
"That's it, baby, that's it. Now, look at me, only at me." It was taking a lot in Earth to be standing. His body wanted to give up, just fall back to the floor and let whatever that was running through his veins right now just swallow him whole. But he couldn't. He was looking right at Mix but in the corner of his eye, he could see Jack watching Mix, carefully.
However, Jack seemed to be distracted by how well according to his plan everything was going which meant that he wasn't really paying close attention to Earth and Mix's conversation. And if he wasn't fully picking up on what they were speaking out loud he sure wouldn't be able to pick up on their silent conversation.
Months of them, creating, exploring, strengthening, and deepening their bond; starting from racing partners through friends to lovers. Earth's best chance at that moment was to hope that their bond was strong enough for Mix to understand Earth's plan even without him saying it out loud.
"That's it, baby. Look into my eyes."
When Mix fully ignored everything around himself, and there was nothing but Earth's eyes, he was confused. Earth's eyes weren't screaming fear, sadness or resentment. None of it. What Mix saw, was determination, love and oddly calmness? Those weren't the eyes of someone who was about to be killed by their lover.
