"To know what we know, and to know that we do not know what we do not know, that is true knowledge."

"Am I seeing this right? Is that really baby Phuwin behind us?" Earth asked, more impressed than shocked

"Am I seeing this right? Is that really baby Phuwin behind us?" Earth asked, more impressed than shocked.

The lights of the silver Bugatti, that Phuwin accepted from Mix with almost too much of an excitement, were flickering right behind them, blending with their own lights and creating an intriguing light show.

"It seems," Mix nodded his head.

"I mean, we saw him flawlessly winning the recruitment race, but I was not expecting him to be on our backs in this race already."

Mix was also watching Phuwin, in his rearview mirror, keeping their pace and moving the red Porche left and right following the movement of the Bugatti to ruin any chance of Phuwin getting ahead of them.

"Looks like Pond did a great job to clear a road for him. Starting next month, we will be doing the same for each other." Mix flashed Earth a smile and took a sharp turn left.

"I will make sure you're gonna have the clearest road ever," Earth said, with his hand on his heart and pout on his lips.

"That's so nice of you, but right now, you should help me to win this race. That kid is very persistent." Mix said, once again checking Phuwin's car in the rearview mirror.

"Let him get ahead of us," Earth said.

"What?" That's exactly what Mix was trying to prevent from happening, for the past few minutes.

"Trust me, do it!"

"Ah fuck it" Mix mumbled under his breath and lightly stepped on the brakes, slowing the car enough for Phuwin to fly past them. Leaving behind himself nothing but a mist of dust.

"And now what?"

"Now, make sure we can see him. How far are we from the finishing line?"

Mix looked at their surroundings, "about three kilometres."

"Great, we are gonna do a checkmate just about a hundred meters before the finishing line," Earth said, confident in his plan.

"You sure we are gonna overtake him in the last seconds?"

"Well, you are driving, so yeah, I am sure."

"I know this wasn't flirting, but I'm just gonna take it as one." Mix said, making Earth laugh.

.....

The last kilometre, almost there.

Mix was gripping the steering wheel so tightly that his knuckles were turning white and his lower lip was almost bloody from all the biting. Mix technically entrusted the outcome of this race into Earth's hands even though in reality he is the one who is holding the steering wheel. And it makes him extremely nervous. He trusts Earth, that's not the point. The point is that this is the first time he doesn't race by his own rules.
