Fuchsia

The flower bends to face me
And I am transfixed
Her petals full of morning strength
They loll with fragrant dew
Freshly raised, her velvet hue
Hanging honey butter pollen
Seeding scents that coagulate in the roof of my mouth
And the acrid taste waxes candle-like
Ruby sweet, amethyst sour
Each tang foams on my tongue
Sugar crystals crease and warm
Flushes over my throat
She blooms beauty waist-high
The sun glistens
Then I shiver stung.
