I've left a bottle of water
Plastic, three quarters full, on the edge
Of my drawer, glinting blue
From my kitchen window on one side
Dull fire beige from my bedroom
On the other side, and as I look
At the water rippling gently
Rocked by the traffic below, that low hum
Long trucks crossing both lanes
Heavy busses lurching forward
The odd ambulance cracking the drone
Unseen, their energy creeps up
To the neck of my bottle
The outside world held inside
My house, room, water, standing
Waving, dented by tired school kids
Then this one, maybe the thunder
Of pounding speakers made that one
I have stoppered a cork
On the churning behemoth.@nepion_boreas17
