My Unmade Bed

Forgive my haste
I choose not to file
Each day in the same grey folder
Once I saw a woman
Who couldn't believe she had to live
Through so much pain
God slapped the beauty out of her
Every second rattled a star
Out of her mouth, that sacred time
Crunched into a black hole
Caving her in
Forgive me the fear
Of collapsing as she did
Out of life, nothing left
But to lay there ripping apart
Feeling the hand that made the cosmos
Take one molecule after another
You cowardly father
What could be less precious
That woman screaming, not allowed
The luxury of tears, not allowed
Any of the pain to escape, it had to stay
Buried and dissolving inside
Keep it in the softest part
And outside everything hardens
Well, what time is left
To plan a satisfying fate
The stupid attempt to correct
Your original mistake
But I won't forgive you
