One strangled gulp
And the earth dissolves into
A low simmering heat and a creaking
Cathode ray buzz, as I walk out
The good soviet citizen, enfiladed
Upon the babbling multitudes
The vast grey void, stirred by people shapes
Shuffling, whiteness blurred and mixed
With ugly blacks, browns, blues,
Eyes faded by clouds like protecting
Witnesses, when there's no identity
To distinguish, just discomfort
The knot of my belly smoulders
After Vesuvius, the monochrome god
That will not let go of my dreams
Until every rotation is completed
And my library is burned
I took you, again, because I thought
And I thought
And I didn't want to think
So I won't
I'll let that psychic elephant's foot
Gouge its way down my spine
Nestling in the hollow of my body
All the black pulsing nodes
Can redirect there, if you don't know
How to solve a problem
Put it in a different drawer
When the tendrils are overgrown.
