It went fine. Caira came back from her path of enlightenment, reigniting her love with Desmond and friendship with Alex, despite the protests of her family. Speaking of Alex, it became clear she and Clayre were back together and eloping, their children were happy once more. Things were certainly normal.
Or were they?
Third Person Point of View.
Clayre stood in the laundry room, throwing in clothes and dirty towels into the washer. She sighed, wiping her forehead but smiled at a picture of her and Alex on the counter. It had been a few months since they got back together. "Hey there pretty lady~" Clayre gasped when Alex came up from behind her and kissed at her cheek.
She slightly giggled, tying an arm around Alex's head. "Well, hi there. How are you?"
"Wanting to see my girl." Alex grinned, flirtatiously sniffing her hair. "Don't you look nice today."
Clayre shook her head, giggling. "Oh, please, I have to get this done."
Alex quivered her lip, making a pouty face. "Just want to have some time with my baby."
Clayre turned around, kissing her passionately. "Speaking of baby, I was thinking..." She nervously cleared her throat before rubbing her hands.
Alex rose a brow. "Yes?"
"Well...Do you remember going to the doctor, setting up a bunch of appointments for me but each time, I ended up miscarrying?" Clayre asked, staring into Alex's eyes.
Alex nodded. "Yes. I do."
"Well...I want to try again. If you're up for it." Clayre said, her eyes shining with pleading and hope.
Alex thought for a moment before clearing her throat. "If it's what you want to do, I'm with you all the way."
Clayre gave a small smile, hugging onto Alex who returned the embrace with a smile. "Alright then..." She sighed contently, Alex holding her hand and kissing the top of her head. They enjoyed the moment alone together while their other children sat in the living room, doing their own things. Later, they set up an appointment, mixed emotions washing over them.
5 weeks later...
Alex stood outside the door, a nervous but hopeful look on her face. She shakily sighed, holding her chest. "Please, please, please..." The appointment she and Clayre made held them in a point of a fifty-fifty percent chance of Clayre being pregnant. Alex hoped this time it would happen. Her heart stopped when she heard a door click and open. Automatically, she turned around finding her wife who held a certain stick behind her back. "Well?..."
"Well..." Clayre started before forming a smile on her face and holding out the item. "You can guess."
Alex's eyes widened as she slowly extended her hand out, taking the pregnancy test. What she found brought up her joy and confirmed what she had hoped for. "Positive?!" Clayre gave a quick nod, Alex jumped up and down, whooping out happily. "YES! YES! I HAD BEEN HOPING FOR THIS!" She exclaimed, rushing to Clayre and picking her up, spinning her around in a tight hug, her wife laughing.
"You think the kids are going to be happy?" Clayre asked, nervously.
"Mm..." Alex thought for a moment before holding Clayre's chin and looking into her eyes. "Let's give it a bit of time and we'll surprise them."
Clayre agreed with the matter, hugging onto her wife and kissing her endlessly. Two months later, Clayre sat outside, enjoying the fresh air and sounds of birds, now she was only three months pregnant, beginning to show. She stood at the fence in the backyard, watching the sun.
