Chapter 56 "Fear and Hope"

It has begun. The bastards were back. First came Wayne who stumbled upon Jay and brutally beat him with his crew. Then, while Caira and Desmond were gone, Azrael was kidnapped, leaving a devastated Connor to vow not to rest until he found his eight-year-old brother. The evil Dr. Kasica and Wayne had took the child to an unknown location. While Thor attempted his apology with Caira, the woman powered up amidst a breakdown, her hair turned gold and fire spread, a familiar voice, that of a Fire Lord spoke. Now, the search for Azrael was the only the beginning, well, actually.

The battle was on.

LJ's Point of View.

Everything was going to hell in a handbasket! After several days of trying to contact Jay, he shows up at my front door all beat up! Who the hell did this?! I swear I'll find whoever hurt him and tear them apart! I'll show them what a real demon can do! Speaking of demons, my twin sister has her powers. The moment she began sparking up blue flames was the moment I knew, her powers had come. It didn't make any sense. Mom said she got rid of herself powers before Jenny and I were born. If Jenny got her powers, did that mean I had something too? You know what, I don't have time for questions right now, I'm more worried about Jay.

I ran up to the guy I loved the most, the one I hurt the most and had a lot of apologizing to do. "Jay...What happened?" I asked my croaking boyfriend, he sat in a chair, his face all bloodied and bruised, an ice pack was held on his head.

"Th-That...W-Wayne guy...H-He..." Jay struggled to find the correct words but, I nodded, giving him a look of remorse. The horrible man that hurt my mom, he was back and ready to do whatever sick shit any bastard like him would. "B-Beat me up...S-Said he was coming after you and everyone else..."

That part shocked me to the core, I slightly gulped, looking down at the ground, my mind all over the place. "I-I don't understand..."

"So that guy who hurt mom is back?" I looked up to find DJ standing there, holding a bag of chips but he stopped eating and was instead in wide eyes. "What are we gonna do?!"

"Where's mom?" I asked him.

"In the bathroom." He replied. "But there's something up with Jenny too, she's losing her shit!" He said that in a panic. I held my head, the stress of all this incoming chaos was getting to my head.

"For what?!" I questioned DJ as I yanked the bag of cheetos from him. "And will you please stop with that?! How can you eat at a time like this?!"

"Dude I barely took a bite out of those!" He rolled his eyes before he spoke. "But that ain't the problem!"

"BOYS!" We both looked to see Mama Clayre glaring at us as she treated Jay's wounds. "Enough of that nonsense! Now is not the time for any arguments!" She demanded.

I nodded while DJ gulped and walked off in a hurry. I turned to Jay before giving him a sad expression. "Hey...Jay..." He only tilted his head up in acknowledgement towards me. "I...I'm sorry..." I went to touch his shoulder but he flinched away from me.

"P...Please...Don't do that..." He shuddered, a sudden pang in my chest coming. I could automatically feel the tears well up in my eyes. "I-I need space...Still..."

It...Was honestly understandable why he didn't want me near him. I hurt him beyond imaginable. In all honesty, I don't know how I'm ever going to take it all back. Maybe if it wasn't for my deadbeat dad, I could've prevented this from happening to Jay. But no, all this shit had to occur at some point right?
