Chapter 1 'First'

Stars gazed upon the flashing lights of the town...

A mere young lady, with the name of Caira walked down the night glows of the city. She reached the woods and went through the path. The sounds of crickets and owls hitting her ears as the crunching of leaves from the stomping of her boots came to. Once reaching her home, she sat upon the couch listening to music.

The night was young, tomorrow would be another mere day. I had nothing else to do with anything, just another day of my boring yet slightly enjoyable, and immortal life. Training would be another thing, going on multiple field trips was another. None of my crew or anyone else was here at temporary home, meaning I had the whole place to myself. Lucky me. For now, I just listened to the rock band known as Skillet. They were pretty good, one of their songs I listened to, was called Rebirthing. It was pretty popular.

The night got later, that's when I looked to the time. The usual nightfall and bedtime, incoming midnight. I would've gone to bed if I hadn't heard a noise.

Boom!

I looked and a rock had hit my window, landing by the wall. I squinted my eyes and went to investigate. "Who's there?!" I called out. I walked outside with a weapon in my hand ready. I proceeded to step down some hills. "You come out or am I going after you?!" I yelled.

Just then, I tripped over a rock and slid down. "Whoa!" I stumbled and nearly bumped into somebody.

"Whoa! Sorry! I didn't see you!" Another girl looked up at me and rose a brow with a questioning look. "Hey, Do I know you?"

I looked to her and slightly glared while having my hand on my weapon in case. "What are you doing here?"

"I asked you a question first." The girl asked, she had blonde hair and pale skin, maybe a piercing or two.

I focused for a bit before it clicked into me. "Wait, aren't you Alex? From School? I think I've seen you a few times in the city."

"Yep, that's me." Alex gave a chuckle. "I was going for a stroll, now I've run into you. What are you doing here?"

I shook my head while crossing my arms. "I live around here." I heard another noise and looked around. "What the hell is that?"

"Dunno." She replied. Both of us proceeded towards where the noise was coming from, just then.

BOOM!

Something exploded sending us flying, I immediately landed on my feet and got out my sword. "Who's there?!"

Alex growled, clenching her fists and I could've sworn I saw her eyes flash gold for a second.

"BOOM!"

We looked and saw who I didn't think we would ever see in our lives. The whole Skillet band. John and Korey Cooper along with Seth Morrison and Jen Ledger. "Shit!" I exclaimed as I grabbed onto a rock and jumped over.

Alex followed after me. "Hey wait up!"

Some weird creatures came at us, I swung my blade at what happened to be a growling zombie. I chopped it's head off while Alex punched a few.

"What the hell are these things?!" Alex exclaimed as she knocked some back.

"Not sure! But we have to get out of here!" I shot back at her as I tore off the head of another creature. These things almost looked like demons of sorts, maybe a few creepers.

"Who are you two?!" Jen asked with a scared face.

"No time for introductions! Follow me!" I shouted as we all ran as fast as we could.
