Eren x reader

It's terrible work. Tending to the horses and cleaning their stables. While everyone else is training outside,  you're stuck inside shoveling heaps of shit. And whenever you're nearly done, someone comes in to either put their horse back in their stable or to pick them up. It's a never ending stream of dirty work. Even making fun of Jean's horse-face, who's on stable duty together with you, can't lift the mood. You've already made every joke there is to make about his face. By the time the day is almost over and nearly all horses have been put back in their stables you can almost call it quits and get some dinner in the mess hall. You now just need to wait for the special operation squad and section commander Hanji Zoe to return from their mission. Their horses will be the last to be tended to. "They can't take that long. They were back around this time yesterday as well." You mutter as you walk outside and sit down on a crate.

Your boyfriend, Eren Jaeger, is part of the special operation squad. They have been running experiments on him day after day, trying to get him to master his titan shifting abilities. Hopefully they went easy on him today. Usually he's too tired to even ride back to headquarters afterwards. Eventually you see seven soldiers riding onto the courtyard. "Petra, Oruo, help (y/n) out in the stables." Captain Levi says as he dismounts his horse and leads it into the stables. His squad and section commander Hanji all follow his lead. With a sigh you walk inside after them to finish your job.

You quickly walk over to the stable of Eren's horse to hopefully have a quick chat with him before he needs to go again. "Hey, baby..." He says softly as he embraces you. He looks and sounds tired. You lay your hand on his head and gently run your fingers through his hair. "I love you..." He whispers as he rests his head on your shoulder. You feel bad for him. He's being pushed to his absolute limit each and every day. It's clearly very hard on him.

"Eren, let's go." Captain Levi says. Eren sighs and lets go of you. As he walks past you he presses something in your hand. "I expect this place to be spotless. Can I count on you to do your job well, or do I really have to come back here later and check?" Levi asks.

"No, captain. I'll do my job well, captain." You say as you salute him, clutching whatever Eren just handed you tightly in your fist. As everyone has left and Petra and Oruo have started to tend to their own horses, you look at what Eren gave you. It's a little note. "Meet me here after dinner. We're sneaking out, so bring ODM gear. I think we could both use a little fun." You whisper as you read the little note. A small smile appears on your lips. You used to sneak away from the training grounds when you were trainees very often. You have no idea what Eren is planning, but it has to be good. You're looking forward to it.

At dinner you keep looking over at Eren's table. He's seated inbetween captain Levi and section commander Hanji, discussing today's experiments. You keep trying to establish eye contact with him, but it takes a while before you actually succeed. When Hanji and Levi finally leave him alone for a second, he looks over at you. His bright green eyes full of anticipation. You simply smile, nod and hold up the little note he gave you. Eren smiles back at you. "Eren, but what if we tried to make you do it like this next time?" Hanji grabs Eren's face and forces him to look at her notes. You shake your head and focus on your dinner again.

After you're done eating, you quickly head to your room to grab your gear. Eren was still wearing his gear at dinner, so he should be at the stables quickly. As you run out of your room, still busy securing your gear to your harness, you pay very little attention to where you're going. This causes you to run into someone. "Oh, sorry I didn't see yo-" Your voice stifles as you look up and see who you just ran into. Two blue eyes underneath thick eyebrows look at you with a hint of annoyance. "Commander Erwin!" You quickly say as you salute him. Erwin eyes you up and down and his gaze eventually rests on your gear. "I was on stable duty today. I'm heading out to get some training in, sir." You say politely as you notice that he is a little suspicious.
