A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based and contained from.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

"You have an appointment with Mr. Loeb." Tyla called as she walked into Lex's office. She was looking down at the black folder in her hands unaware that the millionaire was in the midst of unpacking a few boxes that were addressed to him at Luthorcorp.

It so happened to be for The Talon but since the packages were sent his way, his curiosity was getting the best of him. Reselling The Talon had been a hopeless effort, so he settled with getting Martha Kent to manage the coffee shop in order for it to be some source of passive income. He refused to have it as a sitting money drainer. Additionally, having Lana living on the upstairs floor helped somewhat but the shuffling change caused a headache that only now was starting to dissipate. He had already mentioned it more than once that the Talon wasn't a cash cow. He had tried to pawn it off to Tyla to manage as she saw fit but the woman, like he, did not have much interest in the coffee business. For one, she had more ambitions than the hospitality sector. As well, the blonde was not discriminative with her lattes whether they were from The Talon, Starbucks, or The Coffee Bean across the street.

"That better be a euphemism to seeing you," he muttered, absentmindedly.

A smirk etched on her features. "No, this is an actual meeting," she replied. She finally looked up, noticing the boxes all littered along his office. "What are you doing? He's on his way over!" She raised her left hand in irritation.

Lex scoffed and closed the box in front of him. "That's a shame, I would rather take the appointment with you."

"I can take my dinner break with you. You have a two-hour gap before your last meeting." She walked over and pushed the box away with her perfectly glistened black heel, giving them more space. "Why did you open the Talon inventory?"

"It was delivered here," he replied. "But you can take this in your jeep and get it to the Talon. Maybe show her the inventory and delivery system while I deal with...who is it?"

Tyla sighed. "Mr. Loeb. About the business deals that your father was about to involve himself in?" Since they had returned, Lex was putting himself in overtow to concern himself with all his father's projects. Between discarding them and adopting them as his own, he was preoccupied. Although LuthorCorp was in good hands since Lionel Luthor was spending his life in prison, she could see Lex trying to catch up on everything that needed to be done. But that was what she was here for, to even the playing field. She glanced over at the boxes. Four boxes wouldn't be so bad but there went her two-hour break. "Fine, I'll get out of your way and send it over but please, can you familiarize yourself with everything before he gets here?" She handed him the folder and began to check which boxes might be on the heavier scale.

"Whatever you say, honey," he retorted, partly amused at her growing annoyance. He learned not to take it seriously at work. This was just how she reacted to whatever task he threw at her. She chalked it up as eccentricity and she was used to the fact that if he didn't feel like doing something, he sent her way. However, with his last comment, he was even more intrigued as her cheeks blushed profusely.

"Honey?"

He shrugged while Tyla tried to keep her composure. "Just curious to see what it would feel like. Not sure if the verdict means that it was well-received."

A small smile began to appear on the corners of her lips. "You need to run that by me again at some point."

"Come to dinner with me," He lowered his voice considerably. With his free hand, he pulled the woman close to him, very aware that the doors were wide open. His appointment could walk in at any moment. He glanced over at the doors daringly, then gave the blonde a quick desiring kiss.

"Lex..." she warned as he pulled away and kissed her forehead. They had both agreed to keep their personal lives separate from LuthorCorp as much as possible. They had succeeded to lasting four months without so much as budding rumors but things were getting exceedingly difficult. Lex's birthday had come to pass and with that, the PDA peaking through closed doors. "That changes everything, Lex."

"Good, I was wondering whether you thought exclusivity would be an issue."

"I think that's my question."

Lex gave her a scowl. "I don't like sharing, Ty. I want to make sure that doesn't happen." He looked back to see a shadow from the hallway approaching. This must be Mr. Loeb.

"Well then this, we can agree on."
