Happy Birthday Spence!

2 weeks later

Karina's POV

Today is October 4, 2004, Spencer and I have been to together for a month and a half or as Spencer would say ,'1 month 2 weeks, 4 days, 7 hours, and 12 minutes', and in 8 days it's gonna be his 23rd birthday and I asked Hotch and the team to help me plan him a surprise party at Derek's place. They thought I would be a good idea, so I had to start planning. Luckily, because I come from a big family I was the family party planner, so I already had some ideas in mind. I stayed up night and day planning and doing school work at the same time to the point where I finally realized that his birthday was in two days, TWO DAYS. I had planned everything except for how to get him to the party, so I called Spencer and asked him,

"Hey, Spence"

"Hi, what's going on"

"Oh, I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me on you birthday"

"Oh, yeah that'll be great"

"Good, um - come over at eight and wear something fancy"

"Karina, were not going to a fancy restaurant"

"Yes, we are and I have everything planned, and you're not paying a penny, I will"

"Fine, I'll see you on my birthday"

"Okay, see you then, love you, bye"

"Bye, love you too."

After i talked to Spencer, I checked the time and saw that it was 12:58 am which meant I had one day left and I hadn't gotten him his presents; luckily I already had them in mind and I'm going to go tomorrow, well today actually, and buy his gifts, but for now I'm just gonna fall asleep.

I quickly fell asleep after taking a shower, brushing my teeth, and washing my face. When I woke up I stayed in bed for a few minutes to check my phone until Derek knocked on the door and asked me if I had any last minute things for the party or Spencer and I obviously replied with a yes and he said get ready and in the car in 15 minutes. I got ready and ran to the car and we were off to the mall to get Spencer's gifts.

20 minutes later

Derek and I got to the mall and went straight to the bookstore and got Spencer some new limited edition books that he wanted for the past few weeks and because the author was there she had signed them, let me just say I was lucky. We left to go to the jewelry store and I, well technically Derek paid for them, bought him a new watch and a dagger necklace that I thought he would look good with. After we bought the watch and necklace we left the mall and went back home.

I wrapped and put Spencer gifts in my closet. I went downstairs and started to bake a three layer chocolate cake with vanilla icing and cupcakes. Derek came over and helped me out with cupcakes, and I did see him trying to eat some of them. Once the cake and cupcakes were done and decorated we sat on the couch and watched tv until it was dark out. Uncle Derek was out asleep on the couch, so I put a blanket over him, went to the kitchen, grabbed some leftovers to eat, went upstairs, and fell asleep.

Next Day

I woke up to my alarm going off at 8 in the morning, to remind me that I had to decorate the house. I got out of bed, went downstairs, went to the kitchen passing a sleeping Derek on the couch, and started a pot of coffee before cooking breakfast, which woke Derek up. We ate breakfast then started decorating the house and ordering food for the party.

By time we had finished setting up the party, two hours had already passed by and my date with Spencer is at eight, which means I have a lot of time to kill, so I went to my bathroom, took a shower, washed my hair, washed my face, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. I looked at myself in the mirror trying to imagine what to wear on our date, until I remembered the dress that my older sister gave me last year, so I ran to my closet to look for the dress and paired it with heels and jewelry.
