Just the Two of Us

Karina's POV

Today marks one month since Emily died. Spencer and the team have been struggling with her death. To be honest, I've been struggling too, ever since I met her I built a bond with her quickly, she was like another sister to me.

I wanted tomorrow to be the day of my baby shower, but I feel like I should postpone the day, but Spencer said we should keep it for tomorrow.

"Spencer,  I still don't think we should have the Baby shower"

"I think we should"

"Why"

"Because we need something to bring up our spirits, we need something good in our lives right now, please Karina don't cancel it"

"Fine,  and I wasn't gonna cancel it I was gonna postpone it until next month"

"I know, but what if the baby comes next month"

"Spencer, I'm 27 weeks pregnant, and next month around the time of the postponed baby shower I would have been 31 weeks, I would have had around 9 weeks left which is better, but I'll keep it for tomorrow"

"Good, but the baby could be born anytime"

"I know", I said, while rubbing my swollen belly

"Now, let's get everything ready"

"Okay, I'll do the baking and cooking, while you set up, or do you want me to help set up."

"No, you showed me before where you wanted everything and I remembered, so I'm good you can go do the food and if you not finished I'll come help you, okay?", he said, while rubbing my belly

"Okay"

I walked to the kitchen and started baking the desserts: cake, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and more. As the desserts were baking, I started the turkey, when I heard Spencer walk up to me from behind. He wrapped his arms around my belly and whispered in my ear.

"I'll do the turkey, you go sit down and relax"

"Okay, did you finish the decorations"

"Yeah, you can go look if you want"

"I will actually"

I turned and kissed him on the cheek and walked to the living room, which was completely decorated. We wanted the decorations to be gender-neutral colors because we wanted to wait until the baby's born to know the gender, so we picked the colors sage green and white.

The stair railings had a green and white ribbon pattern, in the living room was a balloon arch in the area I wanted the presents to be, there was a banner that said 'Baby Reid', and there were cute baby decorations everywhere. I walked back into the kitchen and said,

"Spence, the decorations look amazing"

"You like it"

"Like it, I love it Spence, did you have all this stored somewhere"

"Yeah, I've been working on it for a while, mainly the balloon arch, I wanted it to be perfect."

"Aww, Spence, I'm gonna cry"

He walked towards me and said

"Don't cry Dove, don't cry"

"I'm trying not to, but it's just so sweet to think of you doing that for me, did you stay up to do the arch"

"Yeah"

"Aww, You didn't have to, you could have asked me to help you"

"I wanted the arch to be a surprise and I didn't know if I was doing it right"
