Karina's POV

Today is Spencer's 30th birthday, which means that I married an old man, and I had a big surprise for him.

A couple of days ago, I asked Hotch if I could take Spencer for a week, so we could go visit his mom and my dad with Scarlet. Thank god, he said yes and I told Spencer we're gonna be leaving somewhere for his birthday. He didn't want to leave work, but I insisted on it and told him that I already asked Hotch for a week off.

So right now, Spencer, Scarlet, and I are on the airplane to Las Vegas. On the plane, Spencer was holding Scarlet and keeping her distracted by reading a book, while I slept for about two and half hours. When I woke up I looked over to see Spencer was asleep with Scarlet, I could stop smiling at them, she looked like him.

Ever since Scarlet's first birthday, I've noticed that she was starting to act like him and she would sometimes follow him around. It always made me laugh, seeing her walk around with a book in her hand as he would.

I kept on watching them until Scarlet started squirming in her sleep, I reached over and placed her on my lap, making sure she faces me. She's been having nightmares about a story my brother told her. I placed her head on my chest and rubbed her back to calm her down. Spencer woke up and looked at me with worry written on his face.

"She having another nightmare"

"Poor thing, she's probably terrified"

"I know, god I wish my brother didn't tell her that story, it gave me nightmares for months"

"He told you that story?"

"Yes, I was around seven when he told me that, but she's only one, she can't handle that story. He's an idiot for that"

"We just have to keep her calm until she gets over this"

"I know, she's still shaking"

He leaned in and kissed her head and placed his hand behind her head. For the rest of the flight, we kept making sure she was calm. By the time we landed, Scarlet had woken up, and she had tears streaming down her face. I reassured her that she's safe and nothing will hurt her.

In the car, Spencer didn't let go of Scarlet, even though we had her carrier, and to be honest, she didn't want to let go of him either. Scar was holding Spencer's shirt tight, afraid of him leaving. After a while, we reached the hotel and decided to go out to get some food before we went to see Diane.

In the car, Spencer and I were talking about his birthday.

"Spence, I wanted to make sure that you had a great birthday week, and that you spend time with our family."

"I know, what are we gonna do tomorrow anyways"

"Oh no, that will be a surprise"

"Another surprise"

"Yes, but for now let's just say that I got someone to help take care of Scarlet while we're out"

"Who?"

"I'm not saying, but let's just say you'll be happy with your surprise"

"I will"

"You definitely will"

After a 15-minute drive, we finally got to the sanatorium. Scarlet was excited to see her grandmother, the last time she saw her was when she was 5 months old. As we were walking inside, Diane saw us and got up from her chair and engulfed us in a big hug, she then grabbed Scarlet from my hands and kissed her cheek.

"Oh my goodness, I didn't think you'd be coming here and I didn't think that she could get any bigger. How old is she now?"

"She's one mom", Spencer said
