Bokuto and y/n had been texting most of the day, everything going quite lovely and genuinely smooth until y/n was faced with the text "i love you" questioning what to say she thought and then tried to change the subject. It wasn't that she didn't love him, it was that she was simply scared to say it back and didn't think she was ready to either. She texted him back and then laid back on her bed, noticing it was taking him way longer than normal to text her back she looked at their messages and noticed he had in fact read the message but didn't reply. A frown soon appeared on her face with instant regret, scared she may have upsetted him without realizing.
She tried to brush it off and continued to watch her show, a few minutes later she heard a knock at her apartment door. Getting up she stretched and fixed her outfit then got to the door opening it. Once opening it she was faced with a sweaty and quite scared Bokuto carrying a bunch of bags filled with what looked to be candy and flowers. She smiled to herself then to him "baby..I oh my god" she was completely speechless not knowing what to say
"well when i texted you i loved you and you didn't say it back i got scared you didn't love me or were mad at me so i went by the store and bought some candy and stuff to make up for whatever i did. i know it's hard for you to put up with me sometimes and i just don't want you to be mad at me ever ever ever" he blurted softly. she smiled once more than took the bag from his hands, placing them on the ground then hugging him tightly
He may be hard headed and slightly self absorbed, but she loved him truly. She knew she did, with everything she had. She whispered near his ear the soft words "i love you too. my sweet owl" before she knew it she was in his arms, up in the air as he tossed her over his shoulder and ran up the stairs "AHH BOKU LET ME DOWN!!" she yelled while laughing.
He took her up to her bedroom and laid her down then jumped on top of her. He began to wrap his arms around her small (compared to him) body. They both enjoyed this moment, just being in each other's arms and in love. She wrapped her legs around his waist, taking in as much skin contact with him as she could.
She ran her fingers through his thick white tipped hair, his eyes fluttering closed as he got comfortable very quickly. Noticing he was near asleep she laughed "awh. goodnight sleepy boy" she kissed the top of his head. His grip around her waist tightened as he fully fell asleep wanting to protect her even if he wasn't conscious of it.
