Ever since you and Yama had been dating, the talk on getting some type of animal was always running through your head. you wanted some type of animal for not only protection but for company when Yama would leave for business or for sports of course.
Even though he had already agreed to having an animal, you weren't fully sure what animal you truly wanted. You really liked cats, but Yama was allergic so you couldn't get one. He liked dogs but you weren't the biggest fan but could deal with them if they were adorable and sweet enough.
After a few months of the last discussion about it, you brought it back up "hey yams. have you thought about what animal we should get?" you asked looking over at him as he shook his head "honestly no not really i haven't put much thought into it" he patted the seat next to him, wanting you to sit down.
You sat down and began to play with his sweater, soft fuzz balls coming off onto your hand as you thought. "maybe we should just get a dog. even if i don't like them too much i do need to learn patience and it'll be the perfect way to do that" you suggested and you knew he would agree. As you predicted of course he did.
Soon after the agreement you both changed clothes and drove out to an animal shelter close by to look at the dogs.
Going into the shelter you came across dogs of all shapes and sizes, ranging from blue eyed huskies to fat brown eyed English Bulldogs. you were definitely not sure what kind of dog you wanted simply because you rarely even interacted with them because of your lack of interest for them,
You and Yama walked around the shelter for a while before coming across this black great dane with the brightest blue eyes and seemingly a happy and loving spirit. You admired him because he didn't seem as energetic as the others, still wagging his tail but not jumping on the cage like the others did. Although that may not be a good sign you still enjoyed the thought
You looked over at Yama and pointed to the dog, who had been named Spark, such a fitting name for such a less energetic dog you laughed a little to yourself. Yama came over and inspected him and agreed as well "yeah baby this ones perfect, we can now give him a happy and loving forever home" he looked over at you as you both smiled brightly.
After signing some paper work and filling out documents, Spark was officially yours. Walking out to the shelter you took Yamas hand then looked down at Spark who was happily jumping in the air "maybe i'll learn to love dogs..i think spark will be my start"
