"So our mission is to just get the special metal that's in the case, and then we get out of there," Winter explained. We were sitting in the living area; he was on the couch, and I was sipping coffee on a chair next to the couch.

"I knew that you knew what was in the package," I laughed. I forgot to ask about that part last night. All Winter did to respond to my statement was give me the death stare, which I also laughed at. "So," I said, trying to change the conversation back to the mission, "When do we have to get there."

"Around 8," he answered.

"So then what are we going to do the rest of the day?" I asked.

"Stay here."

"Great," I said sarcastically. I wanted to get out of this place and go explore, but Winter was definitely not going to let me. That wouldn't stop me from trying, though.

The rest of the day went by super slowly. All I did was channel surf on the TV on the couch, and Winter laid on the bed in the bedroom looking over the files. He really didn't like to do anything else other than work.

He shut the door about half an hour ago, and I was hoping that meant he was taking a quick nap before our mission. I just wanted to explore the hotel a little bit, and maybe go swimming in the pool that I knew they had. I really just needed to let off some steam doing something. I could go to the gym that this place probably had and let out stress, or I could go to the pool and test out some powers underwater. The first one seemed like I did it too much, so I decided on going to the pool.

I quietly opened the door to the bedroom so that I could change into my bathing suit. Winter had his eyes closed on the bed, but his face was twitching a lot. I didn't know if it was because he was pretending to sleep or if it was a nightmare, but I decided to go with he is having a nightmare. I just wanted to get out of this place. It was a little past noon, so I had time to explore a little before I had to come back and start getting ready for the gala. I was not looking forward to having to dress myself up.

After quickly getting my bathing suit on, I made my way out of the room. I decided to try the main floor for the pool first because that is where I assumed it would be. I was glad I put clothes over my suit because it would be really weird walking amongst business people in my swimsuit.

I eventually found the pool, and because it was only noon, there was no one in there. I took my clothes off and jumped into the pool. It felt so good to swim in it, but I didn't know that I knew how to swim. That must mean that I'm starting to remember more things. I just wish someone could help me remember things because it would be a whole lot easier that way. At least I had Winter; he knew and understood what I was going through, even if he didn't act like it. On top of that, I had these badass powers that I needed to learn to use.

I brought my body under the water, held out my hands, and closed my eyes. I tried to focus everything on getting something to come out of my hands. I knew that if something did happen, then it would be okay because the water would put it out. The more I tried to focus on getting something to happen, the farther away they seemed to be. Why was it doing that? I was actually focusing for once.

Eventually, I had to come up for air and that frustrated me even more. I didn't even know how long I had been underwater, but I knew that all of the experiments they had done on me definitely had something to do with how long I was able to stay under. There was something seriously wrong with me, and that aggravated me so much.

I ran my hands over my face, and they felt really warm. Wait, I felt heat coming from my hands; not humanly normal heat, like above normal. I looked at my hands, and sure enough, sparks were flying out of them. As soon as I got excited about it, though, they disappeared. I sighed in defeat.
