Chapter 12
Lexa POV
Clarke is quiet in the car ride to my house. I feel nervous about being completely alone with Clarke. Normally it's when I'm at my best, but something about Clarke makes me act differently. Want to be a better person.
"Okay, here we are" I state the obvious as we pull up on my driveway. I see Clarke taking in the size of the house. Everyone is always shocked and says that they wished they could live here, but when I'm mostly here on my own it gets pretty lonely.
"I can't believe you live here! Your parents must be millionaires!" Clarke squeals as she gets out of the car.
Even with the bruises still showing on her face, she looks beautiful. The way her eyes can turn a darker shade when she is excited, the dimples that appear on her cheeks when she smiles.
"I guess they are rich" I shrug walking towards the front door. I didn't really like speaking about my parents. Clarke must sense this as she changes the conversation.
"So what are we going to do then?" She follows me through the front door and her mouth drops when she sees the interior. From the entrance hall the staircase winds to the upper floor, to the left is the living room with a plasma TV and a huge sofa, to the right is the open kitchen diner and if you go under the stairs it leads to the games/cinema room.
"We can do whatever you want to Clarke. You are here as my guest" I hold my hands up above my head to indicate that she can go anywhere she wants. Secretly hoping that she chooses my bedroom.
But no such look as she spots the games room in the back.
"You have an ice hockey table! Oh my god come on" I giggle at how cute she sounds right now. She is like a little kid who has just got the best Christmas present that they could ask for.
She grabs my hand and drags me forwards towards the entertainment room. She grabs the pusher and the puck and hands me the other. I'm too busy staring at our hands still interlinked to notice though.
"Hey, earth to Lexa. You okay" She furrowed her eyebrows, obviously confused as to what exactly I was looking at.
"You're cute you know" Oh shit. It slips out without me meaning it too and I hold my hand over my mouth trying to look anywhere but at Clarke as my cheeks were now burning red.
"Wow, I didn't expect the great Lexa Woods to blush so easily." She takes her hand and rubs it on my ruby red cheek. Her skin feels so soft and I want nothing more right now than for her to grab me with her other hand as well and pull me in for a kiss.
STOP IT! Clarke is straight. Don't waste your time, plus she wants to be your friend.
"I didn't mean it to come out like that. I'm sorry, can we just play?" I pull back away from Clarke's hand, missing the contact already.
"It's fine. It's always nice to receive a compliment I suppose. Okay come on, I'm going to kick your arse at this" Her face instantly looked cuter than it already did as her eyebrows scrunched up and her smile disappeared. She was clearly concentrating hard on 'kicking my arse'. God I just loved her British accent.
I walk around to the other side of the table. "It's on Griffin" I may think she is gorgeous but when it comes to games I don't let other people win... however Clarke is very distractive.
....................................................................................
The score is tied again 14-14 and we are playing first to 15. It had been a close game and none of us had spoken much to each other, too busy being overly competitive.
