Clarke's POV
Today was the day Lexa was allowed back to school and quite frankly I couldn't wait to have her back by my side. I had updated both Octavia and Raven on the latest with us both and they were both shocked but supportive.
I had been texting Lexa non-stop and she courteously had been picking me up around the corner from school, no drama had happened which was comforting. Whether it would remain that way was something to be seen. To be honest though, the teacher had been patrolling the corridors like hawks since the fight so everyone had been on best behaviour.
Honestly, I was looking out my window probably for the 11th time that morning to see if Lexa had pulled up outside the house. I felt nervous, almost like it was the first time she was picking me up. We had discussed the previous night how we were going to act around each other in school. Lexa, supportive as always, understood that for now around others that weren't Octavia and Raven we would act platonic.
Getting caught up in my thoughts I ironically didn't even notice Lexa had pulled up at the side until I glanced down and observed her waving at me from behind the wheel of her car, it was already looking to be a gorgeous day so she had the roof pulled down.
Hobbling quickly out of my room and down the stairs I shouted bye to my mum, who was perched at the breakfast bar and flew down the driveway path to meet my gorgeous girlfriend.
"Hey baby" I say low enough for no one else to hear.
Lexa of course was already standing on the passenger side of the car holding the door open for me.
"Good moring, may I say you look gorgeous today Miss Griffin"
"Why thank you, you don't look too bad yourself Woods" I reply as I slip past her into the passenger seat. She runs back around to her side and starts the car.
"You do know my mum is going to wonder why you greet me to courteously every morning, opening the car door for me"
"Well for now just day it's because of your leg. I can't help that I have been brought up to treat a lady right" She replies quickly glancing at me before returning her eyes to the road.
"You nervous to go back?" I ask
"Not really, as long as that bitch stays away from me all should be fine. I've promised my mum though I'll stay out of trouble when I spoke to her on the phone, so I have to be on my best behaviour either way" She holds one hand to her hand sarcastically as though she is making a pledge.
"Just ignore her, and don't feel the need to stick up for me if she says anything to me. I can stick up for myself you know"
"I know you can, I just do it better" I gently slapped my leg and we sat in a comfortable quiet until we arrived at school.
Raven and Octavia are both waiting on a bench near Lexa's usual parking spot. They both came over to greet us, which was nice of them and I think they did it to show Lexa there were no hard feelings now and they were willing to make an effort if she was.
"Good morning love birds. Thought you'd be making out behind the football field and be late" Raven says loud enough for only the four of us to hear.
"Thank you for that" I retorted unimpressed, but smiled at her anyway.
.................................................................................................
The day had been flowing smoothly enough, Harper and Anya had passed us in the corridor between first and second period but words were only exchanged mentally though looks rather than vocally.
