3:00 p.m.

Leigh-Anne was completely exhausted.

Perrie was dead beat tired too.

They both lay on Leigh's bed in their suite.

Perrie turned her head to look at Leigh. "I don't know if it's too soon but . . . 'crazy' runs in your family on both sides."

Leigh-Anne's head was spinning.

Basically, the reason why they were able to escape Leigh's grandparents despite their insistence on 'adopting' Leigh to 'house' her and 'nurse' her to health 'no matter how long it took' was because Alex was able to distract the couple with strong arguments. He had more or less been staying out of their family drama but once things began to escalate and lawyers were being called, he had to step in.

Alex had decided to inform them again that Leigh-Anne was getting help at the school she went to but they had not wanted to listen. He had been coming up with arguments as to why their approach to the situation seemed just a little bit selfish from his perspective and they were becoming offended- obviously. He had eventually directed them to the living room to have a more civilized discussion. That had not exactly gone well . . .

It ended with Leigh's grandfather instructing their butler to take Leigh to their best room upstairs since they knew what was best for her and had agreed that it was staying with them. Leigh had been arguing that she actually wanted to stay at school and to take control of her life afterwards but they kept giving her apologetic looks saying that she did not know what she was saying because she was ill and a victim of abuse. Alex had kept butting in saying that their addressing of Leigh that way was offensive but they had not understood at all.

A whole lot of arguing and back and forths had been happening and Leigh had almost been taken to a room by the butler even though she had started screaming. Her grandparents just looked at it as her 'symptoms' acting up but Alex kept trying to say that they were going about everything wrongly.

Perrie had been the one to save Leigh by attacking the butler and she had decided to bolt out of that house with the girl since things had not been looking good.

The gates had been closed so Perrie had gotten Leigh on her back to scale it and hop the taxi to get out of there. Yes, Alex was still at the house. He was probably on his way back if he gave up like Perrie felt was best to do. What was the worst that could happen if they all just ran back home? It wasn't like the Pinnocks had custody of Leigh. Leigh was grown up . . . then again, they were Leigh's family and they were also really rich and there was evidence that Leigh was mentally ill because of her abusive mother so they could probably make a case to have some sort of custody over her. This would be tricky. Maybe Alex could work something out?

Leigh-Anne covered her face. "That went horrabul!" She screamed a tiny scream and kept shaking her head.

Perrie rubbed her leg while panting. "It's okay babe. It's okay." That had actually been kind of fun. A great distraction from all the shit happening in her life.

Leigh groaned into her hands. "I made them think I was crazy! Why do I always word vomit??"

Perrie had to laugh.

Leigh sat up and pouted at her. "Perrriiiiieee! Don't laugh! It's sad and embarrassing!"

Perrie sat up too. "Pookie I'm sorry. I really am but that was just . . . it was kinda hilarious."

Leigh-Anne watched her laugh.

Perrie sighed. "I would say 'it could have gone worse' but it really couldn't have. Oh wait." She pointed at Leigh. "They could have been heinous abusers but they weren't. They're just kinda stuck up and full of themselves without realizing. Very self-righteous. Kinda got a saviour complex going on- heck they do have a saviour complex going on." She snickered. "I heard your granddad saying some shit about making a documentary about saving you from your abusive mum. They think they're great people but all they care about is recognition. That's why they do good things. Maybe your dad grew up thinking they were actually good because of all the nice stuff they did. He mighta gotten confused so that's how he wound up being a good person."
